For all those people complaining that you can't just build where you want, have you not seen the Open Waters mode? It's exactly what people are claiming that it's missing..

I love TD games, and have played a lot of them. Fieldrunners is still #1 on mu iPod (even with only 4 towers), as it has pretty much nailed the balanced game play. 7 Cities is very fun as well (I love the leveling up of towers), but am having a helluva time getting past the first few levels on medium difficulty. (Do start this one on easy mode--you'll unlock all of the towers by completing.) I'd like this one even more if it didn't make me feel like so much of a noob playing it.

For those who are bellyaching about the lack of polish, let's be reasonable, shinyNESS does not equal to polish. The graphics fits well with the setting of the game and one has to appreciate the little things like the description of the levels before you start each level, which adds to the overall feel of the game. Also, animation of the towers and destructions of enemy ships are delightfully done.

This is the TD game to own! It offers the deepest gameplay for any TD game available. And this means longer replayability. Which to some, surprisingly, does not carry that much weight, but for the rest of us, this game deserves our money! haha

I got this game the other day and have lost quite a bit of time playing it so far. It's a very well done game with beautiful graphics and good game play. If you like the genre at all, you need to download it. The plot around it and the maps give it an extra little touch that ties the whole thing together.

Fieldrunners still takes the prize in my book for best TD game, but that is because I prefer the open field approach, which I feel gives the game more replayability because you have unlimited options for different strategies. But I still like the path-based games, and this is far and away the best one out there.

yo this game is sick!!! it looks stylish and it has that ancient aztec feel.
the interface is easy to understand and the towers and enemies look good!
but the best thing about this game is the playability..

you know a game is worth the download when you decline phone calls just to keep playing! hahaha good job to the makers!!

Played this TD game all day yesterday, and still playing it! I must say that the game feels very polished, I mean, it's a game and it's fun! The graphics are amazing and the sound and music are very fitting for its setting.

One thing I really liked about 7 Cities were the detailed descriptions of the towers. When you're a big TD fan, you want to know about this for deeper planning ahead, even though the towers themselves are fairly self-explanatory when you start playing.

To TriedIt, perhaps try a less conservative strategy with keeping your towers in the rear and instead putting them at the front? Speeds up the game for me. Also I feel the help text is okay on my eyes, and my friends seem to have no trouble with the text either.

Just got the game. Am quite disappointed because the graphics are boring (the gameplay screen is very static except for small moving ships), you have limited options for tower placement, and I spend most of my time waiting around for unexciting events as the next wave of enemies travel the same path as the previous wave. Fieldrunners and Desktop Tower Defense have the right idea where you are free to determine the path of the enemies by the freeform tower placement. It's much more exciting that way and every game you play will have much more variety.

Neos is right: this game feels very unpolished (for example, the font used to describe the various sections in the help screen is hard to read). The music seems pretty interesting, though.

It's actually the opposite. Instead of just making a really winding path to stall the enemies, you actually have to place towers strategically to maximize their damage output. It takes many tries before you can get a set-up that kills all the enemies, let alone one that lets you survive the level!
