I never wanted Rolando when it was being heavily advertised/introduced. I was maybe even anti-Rolando due to the over-hyping and super-commercialism surrounding this title. In other words I wasn't "waiting for the inevitable price drop".

This evening I was pretty bored and kept looking at TA for a new "worthy" game, and that hasn't happened, so on a whim I was looking at older games and narrowed my options down to HOS and Rolando. I impulsively "pulled the trigger" for Rolando.

My apologies to Arn and Blake for any critisisms that I may have issued previously about Rolando, it is truly an awesome experience on my iPhone!
I have BIA and it was an unparalled game for me as far as programming excellence on the appstore, little did I know, truly Rolando is the best all-around game this platform offers.

Kudos to you Ngmoco thanks for what I think "IS" the "Killer App" it was hyped to be! Can't wait to see what lies ahead.

They didn't drop the price because it's not selling well, quite the opposite. They have sold it to everyone who will buy it for $9.99 and are now trying to get the rest who don't have it to buy it. They have probably made as much money as they could ever hope from it.

It's funny how if you wait long enough, the love for a title like Rolando seems to dry up. At first everyone was raving about it. Mind you, I haven't played the game, but I haven't been wowed by their other games, so it doesn't surprise me that much that Rolando may not be all it was cracked up to be. Their other games look nice, but haven't proven to actually be much fun. I'm still intrigued by Rolando, but I think I'll just wait it out even longer. I suspect it will eventually get even cheaper. Maybe 99 cents? Free?

No, you're not weird. I bought Rolando yesterday and was bored with it after 15 minutes. I just find it a chore to finish the levels. It looks and sounds lovely but the fun is just not there IMO.

Broke down just two weeks ago to buy BiA, HoS, and Rolando. Now they all dropped. I finally understand how those ranters feel.
That being said, I am one of those "weird" people, the kind that finds Rolando a bit-no, VERY boring.
I must be crazy.

Rolando is a good game and easily worth $10 even if it wasn't quite as good as some expected. It compares favorably to $20 and $30 games on the DS for instance.

Leaving the AppStore dynamics aside I think the value is pretty clear.

The AppStore dynamics are a bit depressing from a developer's point of view. Especially one who wants to offer a high quality game and not iBodilyFunction. I've had delays in getting my game out, but I'm starting to think that missing these growing pains in the store may turn out to be beneficial.

It's NOT encouraging to see Rolando's price drop this quickly. And those who are quick to see a bargain only, please realize that although you do get a great deal and cheap fun, the whole process is generally rewarding cheap shovelware and helping to scare away devs who want to make high quality games with lasting value.

That said, enjoy it!

I wonder if the AppStore needs a top 20 for price tiers or something? Top 20 games at 0.99, Top 20 games under $3, Top 20 games under $10. Anybody thing that would be good? Maybe worse? I wonder.

My source was: AppStore -> Games -> Top bought apps on the right side/box.

Of course I did not take a look at the new releases list. I get flooded with 100 apps or so per day, so I know that this is ridiculous. But the first list which opens on the mobile AppStore is the top bought list, with the apps mentioned above.
