Did somebody mention Colibricks?

That's the game that tied me to this genre. Colibricks is a very good Breakout game, focused not in the graphics, but in the gameplay.

By today, I think that there are at least 25 Breakout games on the App Store. Is it that Breakout games are easy to make or that a lot of people like them?

downloaded this and it is superb

very retro look threw me for a moment but the by the 2nd level things are so chaotic that I can;t imagine what's going on by the 60th level

only just dipped into this due to work - but I can already tell it's got that dangerous level of old school addictiveness

Actually, for that matter, Colibricks on the Mac isn't bad. You'd think that would be a relatively easy port?

Krypton Egg was amazing, but I think Aquanoid beats it out for best Arkanoid-type. I'd love to see that.

Love all of the classics that are coming out lately. I used to play Krypton Egg on the Atari ST back in the day -- it really is one of the best Breakout/Arkanoid clones in existence. Now it's on the iPhone for a buck? Can't beat that.
