This app is horrible. Nothing like the original Tamagotchis at all. You do not even take care of the Tamagotchi in this game. You basically feed a plant and play with a water spitting geyser. Horrible. Bring back the original in a app. I would pay for that one

@Jens - thanks for the update. I have to admit my last real exposure to Tamagotchi was in the initial incarnation. I'm not at all familiar with this new version.

Yikes — I'm having to hide the screen from my daughter as though it were hardcore pr0n or something. If she finds out there's a Tamagochi game for the iPhone, then I'm going to have to get her one.

(OK, not really. I'm not that kind of dad, fortunately. But there would be wailing and rending of garments and such. Beware the wrath of the ten-year-old.)

Quick update for those between the ages of 15 and 35: Yes, Tamagochi made their first appearance ten years ago, and soon thereafter fell into the limbo of expired fad gadgets. But they reappeared, maybe four years ago, with slightly fancier features and an external hi-res mythos, and have been selling like hotcakes again. My daughter got addicted in a major way in 3rd grade; it's been in remission for a while, but could easily return.
