In short.

The expectation was so high based on what Konami actually delivered on other portable devices, and after all the hype, iPhone users get this cr@p.

It's a marketing scheme just to familiarize the series to those who never heard of them -a group the iPhone gratefully holds-

Hence, rants from the "other group" is quite natural I'd say.

@Phreakuency

I think the problem is they could have easily ported any of their PSP (Acid: card based MGS) or n-gage (MGS Mobile: think MGS2 on a mobile phone) version, and we would all be very happy.

It's not a matter how quickly the game was developed, which really is their problem not ours as we're rightfully spending our own money.
It's a matter of how much better MGS for the iPhone could have "easily" been if it hadn't been for their rather odd decision. The disappointment everyone is ranting about is a direct result of the developers own decision to bring a pickup and play (or duck hunt clone) MGS for the "casual gamers" of the iPhone.

Yes, at first, the developers thought of making a full fledged MGS. And yet they had to change their minds, just because they didn't think anybody using an iPhone would want to play an original MGS game "in the train."

Good thinking MGS developers!
Yes, we only play games "in the train!!"

FYI

There's an interview in the latest Famitsu, so if you guys can read Japanese like I can, find it. There you'll find just how quickly the game has been developed.

And like I said, no one is making you buy the thing, yet there are still wankers crying? Oh you don't like it? Who cares? Move on instead of telling us a million times, because it's getting you nowhere.

Phreakuency: Developed in about a month? Yeeh, that sounds about right.

You heard it, folks: they spent only a month developing this fine title, so cut it some slack and give them your money!

You people need to chill. They've just spent years developing and finishing MGS4 and are still hard at adding extra content to the online mode.

The iPhone/iPod gaming craze takes off and they try to add a fun little game, which by the way, has been developed in not much more than a month, to compliment their main game and give something to the community and they've been attacked for it.

It's very likely they will develop a fully-fledged Metal Gear title in the future but if you're expecting that in such a short time and are crying at this game then go away. No-one is making you buy it.
