@lazrhog I'm sure developers would be able to ship one version of a game, which would detect the host iPhone / iPod Touch and tailor its graphics accordingly. This article on Pocket Gamer seems to confirm that:

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/iPhone+3G+S/feature.asp?c=13757

I'm sure lots of iPod Touch owners will upgrade. $10, to extend the feature-set of the device and enable all sorts of new apps through the APIs? I wouldn't hesitate...

Real Racing from Firemint blows Asphalt 5 out of the water. I'm glad I skipped both Asphalt and NFS. Gameloft is too similar to EA.

So,as a developer, do you pitch a game at the mass Market or the small 3G S Market ? Will there be a seperate appstore for gles 2.0 apps ? How many ipod touch users will upgrade to 3.0 firmware just so they can be charged for extra content ? This is all starting to get a bit disjointed apple.....

I'm not a fan of Gameloft. They havent really made any app that i consider great. Asphalt 5 looks like more hype than substance... which is typical of gameloft titles.

Firemint's real racing looks how gameloft makes their game sound. When you look at that asphalt 5 video, its clear that improved control etc is fantasy. Theres no such thing. Real Racing looks to have better control, where as Asphalt 5 looks like asphalt 4 with new art.

First I felt that the iPhone 3GS was very underwhelming besides the somewhat improved camera and edit software (if the softwares is good and 3.0 take good pics then I'll change my mind) and when I saw Asphalt 5 I loved it the instant I saw it. Thank You TA!!!! you made my day! :DDDDDDDDDD But if they incorporate the "improved" control sensitivity like Asphalt 4 with the update then there goes Gameloft. I remember playing with Asphalt 4 before the update trying to get the best car with the best parts.

3.0 has a voip feature so yes i think its trivial. i think it only for bt p2p though as i havent tried to use that api. if they arnt using the api i dont see why theyd just now decide to add voip to the game.
