@snow_mani ("No, in this type of puzzle you don't see the picture until you have completed the puzzle.")

Right, but you do see the picture taking shape--and that could be a clue about what to do next.

(I see on the PC version site there's a half-done puzzle and you can see a tiger taking shape. So you'd get a sense that the black stripes will go around the tiger, not cross-wise, for instance.)

As arn said, this is based on the PC version of the same name, which can be found here: http://krispixton.com/PathPix/ . The PC version has around 1500 puzzles, and some of them get *very* hard. This first iPhone version has easy to moderate difficulty puzzles, mostly because the paths are limited to 10 squares at most (usually between 6 and 8) to work with the small screen. Kris has said that she is planning on releasing another PathPix iPhone game with much harder puzzles, though, for those who want much more of a challenge.

I agree with everything said. It is a good time waster and yet still requires brain power. It isn't that hard to play. The game is very easy to play and very fun to play. The pictures add to the fun. The only quirk i have with the game is it needs a better way to scroll through all the puzzles. at 140 puzzles I found myself breaking a sweat just scrolling.

Yes, and that is one thing that I like about this type of puzzle. It's a very solvable puzzler. Even the more difficult puzzles can be solved with patience, a good memory and some trial and error. For me they offer a change from the more brain twisting puzzles that I frequently play. And I was very pleased to finally have one I can play on my iPhone. No more puzzle books, pencils and erasers for me!

It is without a doubt polished, and the touch/drag works really well. Very responsive and intuitive.
Now, this next bit is probably only my personal taste talking, but somehow the game itself feels more like a 'time killer' than a game per se, like Sudoku. With enough trail and error you'll get there. The animal and saying at the end is a nice touch to round of a level though.

I grabbed this one after reading the post - it's great. I love Picross and similar-ish games -- this one's fresh and fun.

"I did have a few minor quibbles with the interface of the game, but nothing that really interfered with my overall enjoyment."

Arn....I didn't like the green arrows but since the update they've been eliminated and I don't have any quibbles anymore. I was always wondering if we'd see Link-a-Pix puzzles on the iphone like they have on DS and lo and behold we do. This is definitely one of my favorite take-a-chill pill no brain burning required puzzlers. Kris did an excellent job with PathPix.

@Adams Immersive - No, in this type of puzzle you don't see the picture until you have completed the puzzle. All you see is the puzzle grid and the coloured numbers at the "beginning" and "end" of each line of colour. Working out how to correctly place each coloured line forms blocks of colours which in turn forms the completed image.

Sounds neat. I take it that the picture itself can become a clue to where you need certain colors?

Before I got my iPhone I subscribed to a number of puzzle books. One was for a type of puzzle called 'Enigma'. This is essentially Enigma puzzles on my iPhone. And very nicely executed too. :) If you are not familar with this type of puzzle it can look very complicated but it isn't. The concept is easy to grasp and enjoyable to play.
