I mean, honestly...have any of you actually seen a 2 year old draw something? Most, if not all, create art that would not be up to your "pro" standards. That's what the dev was going for in regards to this game. It's not a matter of the limits of his talent, but the aesthetic choice he was going for, and in that regard he achieved exactly what he set out to do.

@Greg

No offense...but your response is evidence that you did, in fact, miss the point.

The look is intentional. It mimics the style of art that a small child would create. That's what the dev was going for, and they succeeded in that regard. It's not meant to look uber beautiful, or like a crayon illustration by pros that is in the spirit of, but does NOT mimic, the style of art a small child would themselves create (*points at Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, which although a great game and in the spirit of child drawings, was obvious and plain as day to see pros created it).

If you've played Trace, you'd understand...or maybe the concept would still go over your head and the rest of you...who knows anymore on here at toucharcade >_>

I don't think anyone has missed the point of the graphic, but they just look horrible, funny concept, but I wouldn't want to pay for that kind of crap. Hire an art director or illustrator.

Could it be that some of you are missing the point as far a graphics ? Looks to me like the developer intended it to have a that crude, miss mash of colors - as if painted by a juvenile-look. Katamari Darmacy's graphics were not exactly stellar, yet it was a top rated game on the PS2. I think the game looks cool, but more concerned with how it plays.
