Sometimes going slow for stretches is better. And then again... sometimes you hit a collapsing building and realise you don't have enough speed to escape to the next safe point. I stumbled onto boxes and chairs on purpose and easily got to 8000 meters. After that the slow tempo of the game wasn't as much fun.
