After reading the comments so far it seems that no one has mentioned Broken Sword. Broken Sword is a highly similar adventure game that I grew up playing. Well, it was my first point-and-click adventure game and I may be biased, but I really loved Flight of the Amazon Queen. It has more or less ScummVM interface, but I didn't care.
I am currently enjoying Return to Mysterious Island too - so glad I didn't upgrade the firmware on my 2G Touch ;) .

Simon the Sorcerer games were supposed to be good too, I've heard. Didn't try them yet.

I hope they all make the adventure games so easy to navigate and interact as Steel Sky. I saw some pictures of Simon the Sorcerer, and I think they just ported it and u use the finger as a mouse. It is a stirling game. I much prefer it without the intro and speech though. Can those be turned off? The voice acting just drives me crazy (especially the accents ..me living just across the water from Oz.) :) Anyway.. brilliant game. So glad to see it make the leap to iPhone with all the right tweaks made to the UI.
