It was only a hit because it had brand name and marketing from apple. The game was 10 dollars and it really turned people off with iphone gaming because it was so frustrating to play. Luckily the economy is very different now because I remember paying for Freeverse's Motoracer (now called Motochase) for 10 bucks and it felt like playing an alpha version of a generic racing game.

At one point they updated it to save in-game state on exit. To unlock the secret levels you have to collect all bananas on each level with one life only. If you exit the game after dying, reloading will remember how many bananas you got in the previous life and let you keep them, so you can actually take as many lives as you like - and for some levels that can be rather a lot!

I didn't even buy SMB for the iPhone, even though I loved the GameCube version. But I will definitely buy 2 because it will have MONKEY TARGET! This so called 'mini game' ended up being the main attraction, I played that far more than the main game. I'm very excited to see it coming to the iPhone version...same with Monkey Bowling!

Although I'm extremely happy that Sega has finally gotten off their tushes and are in the process of bringing us another Monkey Ball game (the first on iPhone/touch is/was pretty stellar all around), I'm a bit dismayed by the fact that Sega took all this friggin' time to bring us this. Not only that, but a while back they made a big to-do about asking what people wanted (rather than, y'know, do something themselves in that nearly year long gap between major, made-for-iPhone/touch releases).

WTF took so long?

Another Monkey Ball was a given. This should've been done a while back. This is a "safe" decision. Where is the real new stuff, Sega? Are there any other games in the works? And I don't mean ROMs of old Genesis or Master System games running on an (unoptimized) emulator; I'm talking NEW, made-for-iPhone/touch games. Where are they? Why have you guys taken so long? Where is the Sega of my youth, the Sega that took risks, the Sega with balls?

Nice Sega people. Lovely Sega People. Sweet, sweet Sega People. I have but a humble hope that you're reading some of this... and listen to my prayers: I want Outrun. I so want Outrun. I need Outrun. I need it so bad, and will pay obscene amounts of money for an Iphone port. I don't want updates or remakes or polished editions... I want the original 1986 game. With the original music. And the original blonde girl next to me in my testarossa. I know you've got it. I know it's just a ROM in your drawer. Please... pretty please... bring it on!
