You can get these games for free. Visit www.Daphne-emu.com
The have Dragons Lair, space ace, cliffhanger, mach 3 and much more. Also, they emulate the arcade game with every available arcade option...Including putting in quarters. #5 is left coin slot and #6 is right coin slot. Don't forget to press twice to simulate adding 50 cents. I was stuck for a minute on that. With dragons lair, dragons lair time warp and space ace, thayers quest, you are required to purchase the cd from digital leisure and put it in your dvd tray to be authenticated ((ONE TIME ONLY)) ...you may be asking "if i buy the dvd why do I need this emulator? It's because the dvd does not emulate the game properly. Daphne adds all of the magic...oh ya, it's also free. (donations welcomed if you want)

Please please please someone help me with a "technical" issue! My directional arrows and sword action icon do not show up. I do have the latest itunes (v. 4) software. I want help! So, I can not interact with the game right now ... it is a total bummer!

Strider, they actually came out with an arcade version of DL2, it blew chunks. The concept with DL was the laser disc. With a new eprom and marque, they could convert the existing cabinet into a new game. Space Ace was another attempt at this type of conversion.

The game is true to the arcade version but they left out the attract mode!!!

"Dragon's Lair: The fantasy adventure where you become a valiant knight, on a quest to rescue the fair princess from the clutches of an evil dragon. You control the actions of a daring adventurer, finding his way through the castle of a dark wizard, who has enchanted it with treacherous monsters and obstacles. In the mysterious caverns below the castle, your odyssey continues against the awesome forces that oppose your efforts to reach the Dragon's Lair. Lead on, adventurer. Your quest awaits!"

Digital Leisure is officially working on Dragon's Lair II.
In DL, if you go in "More Games", the click on "Move Hints/FAQ" and then again click on "Dragon's Lair", a faq say:
Q: Is "Dragon's Lair II" being released?!
A: We are currently working on developing Dragon'Lair II for the iPhone / iPod Touch and hope to have an announcement very soon!

I'm 41. I've blown several weeks allowance in this game. My friends and I were able to get through the game without dying once. This game was huge when it came out. They put an extra monitor on top of the cabinet so the 15-20 people constantly crowding around the Machine could watch as well. I bought it and played it on my touch. It's amazing how many rooms I still remember.

I remember this game on the Amiga many many years ago. It as pretty to look at, but very hard to play. I think it's worth a gamble on the iPhone at $5.

I am old enough to have played Dragon's Lair in the arcades. I played it quite a bit. I never finished it, but I knew the moves by heart for most of the levels, including the final level with the dragon, which I learned by watching other players. The level that always got me was the one with the mud monsters. The timing on that one was tricky and the move list for that level was quite long. Sadly, the arcade near me that had this game closed before I was able to master it. Years later, I finally conquered the old DVD version.

Does anyone remember Thayer's Quest? Another LaserDisc arcade game from the tail end of the arcade golden age. It was like an RPG/adventure game, less timing oriented. You'd have to solve puzzles and go on quests to collect things. Very cool. Sadly, the arcade game was shipped incomplete. There was supposed to be a sequel arcade game, but it never materialized. I think the animations were recycled for a CD-ROM game for the 3DO console called "Kingdoms" or something like that.
