An iPhone 3GS, unsubsidized costs more than the iPad, and you still have to buy a phone/data plan. I can definitely see the benefit or use of this at home. If my wife is on the computer or watching a movie I want to see on the TV/computer, I can just grab my iPad, head upstairs and watch a movie or TV Show or even surf the web at incredible speeds! It's not a fit for everyone, but it definitely services a market.........just like netbooks......which aren't for everyone also! I don't need the iPad to have file management, flash, a full OS system. I want it to be fast, convenient, have a great UI and be a media darling.........All of which the iPad is!
