David B,
Just for the record, having different mixes is not "completely original". Even a small game called "Imp" has that feature, though obviously not on the production cost level as this. So, that's not entirely true that there is any originality in that feature. :) I have no comment, otherwise. Just setting the facts straight.

Love the concept behind the game, but I agree with a lot of what others said. The game should come with a few more tracks included. It's a little shady when a game comes out with 3 tracks included and then a day (2 days?) later there are 3 more tracks that we have to pay extra for. I get that it boils down roughly to each track costing about a dollar and getting the client app that plays the tracks for free, but shouldn't the base app be more like a starter pack, i.e. maybe we get 6 tracks for 50 cents each instead of the usual $1 for 1 track pricing (and yes, I do realize that the included songs have 3 difficulty levels instead of just 2)?

More importantly, as others have said the controls really need work. When the track is more or less level it's fairly manageable to keep the ball on the ribbon, but as soon as the track starts curving or tilting (as it often does) it becomes very difficult to gauge how far to tilt the device to keep the ball on the ribbon. I guess this can be overcome if you've played the song a few times to the point that your muscle memory kicks in, but in a game based on picking unique paths through the song to create your "own" mix each time you play, having to rely on track memorization to do well is kind of ridiculous. I also find that in the points where the track splits or merges back together it becomes very difficult to keep the ball on the line because the calibration seems to suddenly and drastically shift. I don't doubt that people can adapt to these controls, but right now they feel unnecessarily frustrating. Half the time while playing I feel like I'm fighting with the controls and that shouldn't be the case.

I think the easiest solution to make everyone happy would be to include 3 control options: First, the one currently in the game. Second, another tilt control method where tilting right causes you to drift right and vice versa, while holding the device level will keep the ball centered, as suggested in the TA review. Third, a slide bar for touch controls for the people who want them. Maybe even include separate leader boards for each control method to keep things fair, since I imagine touch controls would be much easier to use when compared to the tilt methods.

Also, Tapulous, if or when this game starts to gain momentum and is able to stand on it's own without the Black Eyed Peas name slapped on it, can you please chop that part of the title off and just call it Riddim Ribbon (as opposed to Riddim Ribbon Feat. Black Eyed Peas)? Please don't take the Tap Tap Revenge route with this one and release a new Riddim Ribbon app every other month with a new artist tagged on the end. If you're trying to create a game platform that you plan to keep expanding through paid DLC, please just have ONE client app rather than making me download and install 4 different apps (example: Riddim Ribbon Feat. Tiesto, Riddim Ribbon Feat. Daft Punk, Riddim Ribbon Feat. Crystal Method, etc.) for what is essentially the same game. It's annoying that I have 4 TTR apps installed on my ipod when you could have easily just made TTR3 backwards compatible with all previous tracks. As a side note, please tell me why I can't import the songs from TTR1 and TTR2 into TTR3? This forces me (and many others, I'm sure) to keep nearly a whole row of icons for, again, essentially one game. This is especially frustrating given that, in my opinion, the tracks in TTR2 far outshine the tracks in TTR3, so if anything I would erase the new and allegedly improved app in favor of the old one that does basically the same thing minus the improved UI.

I would LOVE it if they had the base track which you could then deviate onto the remix tracks without being forced onto them. As it stands it makes a bit of a mockery of their 'you are the dj' tagline

for all intent and purposes you are getting 3 LEVELS with a soundtrack of 11 songs. i dont play FIFA and justify its purchase because it has x amount of songs.

I Agree it does have great graphics for the iphone and looks very polished. The controls are (in my opinion, obviously not everyone elses) not that bad either, it just takes a bit more effort than what most apps are designed with.

it is a good game well worth the $3 but it feels very bare bones at the moment. im more than happy to pay for my songs i personally love the idea (even if big companies like EA just dont get it) but giving me 6 songs to play with until they release more (and if ttr3 is anything to go by we will be waiting a while) just doesnt give me a very fun experience.
