Haha yeah I figured that much. Well in that case it reaches instabuy status. Who can argue with so much pizza butt-kicking action? Keep us posted. Release date, week, month?...year?
That just might be vague enough to make me like the game more. Anyway, keep us posted and good luck with it. Hope to hear more about controls and gameplay in the coming months to a year .
Can you please stop writing all this information on your blog ? I'd like to finish our own game in time instead of being caught in your wonderful world of wall of texts I'm kinda doubtful about these 10 individual game modes. I guess you didn't mention if it would be all kinda linked within a greater game mode, but having these as separate games would be kinda too much for my taste, considering some of these are quite similar in style. I'll consider it as first tests and that nothing is final. Also your pizza scares me. I want a happywonderland fun pizza as alternative skin available via twitter Keep up with this wonderful piece of.... !!
They are all linked into a single adventure. Think of it as an epic quest where your pizza has to confront all sorts of challenges. However, despite the multiple gameplay variants, the controls will always be the same.
Oh yeah, all the art is a placeholder for sure. In fact, if you look closely you'll see that a lot of the terrain even has a filename written on it, like "karate_2.png" and there are lots of numbers that help us when we're designing levels. I'm slowly but surely working on replacing all that with actual artwork.
Really like it so far. One thing suggestion though- As odd as this sounds, is there any way the pizza can show a bit more emotion. I noticed it has the angry face and the face it gets when it receives damage. I just think it might be a bit more interesting to have the faces change in different situations. Other than it looks stellar! All of these modes are 'mini-games' I suppose? Is the single player a platform-esque game, where you'll play these eventually as you progress? And if that's the case will they be unlocked to be played whenever we please?
Yes! Good point. I've been thinking the same. The only complication is that for each facial expression, we actually have to include a whole bunch, because you can pick different faces (like Mr. Potato Head.) I think we'll be able to figure something out though! Jacob
Good to hear! This game is fast sounding like one of the better games soon to be released on the iOS! Cannot wait!
Hi Everyone! For this week's update, I went into an in-depth discussion of Pizza Vs. Skeletons' camera system. Even though the game is 2D, which usually means you can get away with a simple camera, we've had to add a lot of extra logic because the main character is so big (maybe the biggest playable character ever put into a 2D game!) This is fairly in-depth and technical, so read at your own risk Camera Design for a Super-Sized Character Thanks! Jacob
One more thing! Which background art style do you prefer, the top one or the bottom one? Thanks! Jacob
Like the bottom one better because of the smoother color transitions, but the colors are a bit too much like the floor tiles. Maybe tweak that a little to make it easier to differentiate the back- and foreground. Huge kudos for huge Pizza !!
i like the bottom pic but i think u should put the floor of the top pic instead of the floor of the bottom one
