That is very much a matter of opinion. Let's leave it at that.

Lol, I'm with you. For the kind of "action" Ravensword offers, you really need that depth in other areas of the game, and Ravensword just didn't come through. It's better described as an adventure game IMO. A very superficial, tech demo-ish adventure game.

The devs of ravensword have states repeatedly that IT IS an adventure game with the lightest hints of rpg elements. Maybe the time of debut should be mentioned..not sure if you were here then but at that time, the AppStore was young and had nothing even similar to the caliber of ravensword. Even gamelofts games were basic back then. It was an amazing tech demo that to this day, over a year later, no one has even attempted to follow in its footsteps. Of course it didn't come through..but that was over a year ago. The AppStore has evolved more in just the past six months, not to mention year, than any other span of time and has come so much further. Let's wait to play before being so skeptical.

    I feel kind of sad...

When the Aralon trailer debuted in October, this thread was hungry and starving for this game.

There is an old saying "strike while the iron is hot"...

Yet, even with the hands on demo, this topic thread is dying off.

Very little new posts. I guess it could be, as the game takes longer to develop, people are losing interest and moving their attention to other releases.

Or maybe, they've accepted this won't release for over a month (hypothetically) so they are just in the "out of sight, out of mind" mentality.

Hopefully there is a frenzy for this game, upon release.

No, it's just that there isn't much left to say untill the release.

I totally agree with you; I'm not saying the app description was misleading or that the game wasn't a huge step forward. A whole lot of forum members here lump the game in the RPG category though, so it comes up. Yea I was around and I bought it for 6.99 on my 3GS back in the day. I just didn't find it to be worth playing IMHO. I'm stoked about Aralon though, believe me. :) Clearly no one can say it's not an RPG, even if it fails. With Rimelands I'm already a fan of Crescent Moon. I'm pulling for this one.

Why do you care? Would your enjoyment of the game really be enhanced by people hyping it up? Is it lessened if you're not feeling like you are playing the "next big thing?" Do you require a multitude of opinions to validate your own? I really don't get it. Maybe if this were an mmog and you're concerned about it having the numbers to be fun, but it's a single player RPG. Who cares whether or not there is a frenzy for it once it is out and you are able to play it yourself?

I think you're nuts. The thread was at 200 pages three weeks ago. Now, we're up to 260. 60 pages in three weeks is scarcely no new posts. There may be less from the devs, but they're in crunch time.

crunch time doesn't even begin to describe where we are at right now.
I was really hoping the 10 minute hands on vid would keep you guys satisfied for awhile...

    Rude.

I want this game to succeed. Wildly.

That's all. Aside, I also like reading the discussions and details that emerge about this title. I'm beyond excited to play it.

The video was fabulous. Many sincere thanks!

I had previously stated that this title is ranked above Infinity Blade, on my anticipated titles to buy list.

    Highest compliment I could pay.

With the XBox 360 severly lacking in great rpg, or upcoming rpg releases...

This game fills the void and I am stoked for Aralon.

I just enjoy seeing this thread at the top of the upcoming games...and reading everybody's ideas and thoughts.

People who're still not appeased by the video are either addicts or content whores. Yes, there are other things in the game that I'd like to see. You showed what you showed, because that's what you thought was important. I can appreciate that. Everything else will have to wait until either you think it's necessary, or until the game is released. I'd be happy to wait for either.

Though, Josh, I'm curious. When's the last time you got a full night's sleep?

I generally agree. However, seeing that the devs are taking a major gamble with this game, folks interested in seeing more games of this scope on the platform may feel that they have something at stake in its success.

  19. Oh, that was plenty. I still want to see more -- but that goes without saying. I'm sure everyone here does. It's only because we can't play it yet. But we surely appreciate the video -- that was probably more than anyone was expecting.

We're all content whores and addicts to one degree or another. It's part of the reason we're here, visiting these threads. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- unless your wife/girlfriend is neglected, pets/kids starving, and school/work falling behind because of it. :)
