Ok, I understand now. I think the thing that I mostly take issue with is the disproportionate amount of attention given to games like Aralon, over ones which are (conventionally) less graphically impressive, even if in terms of gameplay they might be infinitely more interesting and innovative.
Yea but the ps3 doesn't and hardly has any western RPGs either so this could be better than many ps3 RPGs. Also, just cause the graphics will be worst doesn't mean the iPad doesn't have potential to have a better game than a xbox 360 rpg, there really is no size limit or scope limit to what it could handle if someone was dedicated enough. I mean this could become a sleeper hit like Risen, mount and blade, eschalon, avenchast, and other Indy dev pc hits and be just as good as that IMO. Or at least better than divinity 2. Look what they accomplished with elder scrolls 2 on even much worse hardware. You really don't think if more incentives arise or the nature of the app store changes we wouldnt still be able to have such a hit?
Gameloft creates quality and production values though. Maybe what they would create would actually be better than a bethesa or bioware portable title (look at that sonic rpg game for instance). And, why don't even Indy devs make any hardcore titles on the idevices? I mean they do on steam and pc so why isn't there a single hardcore game outside a couple gameloft titles like modern combat 2 on the idevices? I men frescoing the new 4x game I heard is even casual and basically a gal con ripoff with some branching techs. Why can't even a freaking Indy dev make a real game on this thing? I was talking about dark star I believe the name of it is. I mean come on make a real game please.
SZ, I enjoy following your thought process even if I don't always agree with where it's going. Go forth and play your big game on your little screen with my blessing.
When was the last time anyone asked our Cresent Moon liason how his day was? How are you, as of the time of this post, Mr. Persisen? (I don't think I spelled that right)
its ok so far. had some really cool ideas. hopefully we can get them in an update. my last name is pronounced press - ice - in and spelled presseisen. yeah thats a mouthful.
Well, at least your day isn't bad...not that that's saying too much. I'm glad you've got many creative ideas. It's good to keep your mind in motion. Will be looking forward to the updates which will be born into form, from release and beyond. I just wanted to give sincere thanks for all of your communication to the varied members (myself included), whom opine and exalt, whom deride and decry; all within the walls of these forums. It's cool. You are talented and appreciated. Cheers! (ps. This almost sounds like a love letter, lol!...totally not though!) (pss. Try having a Portuguese last name, no one ever getsnit right. I have to constantly remind, that the "I" is silent. Sad face.)
I'm putting it out there now so nobody can steal it. In commemoration of all your hard work, my first character will be name Josh Presseisen. A mighty Mage, for all the magic you've worked
Great idea! I'll just name my character Presseisen. It sounds medeival, more medeival than adding in the Josh... Josh, you should be honored You've got groupies, lol!
Everybody who buys Aralon should name their first character after an important figure in regards to development. Who will take Mark Jones?
