You're telling me! I spent the weekend getting up on the Unity Editor, and getting out in the local mountains to get some reference pics for the new environment textures/models. Got the Medaeval Baebes cranked up on iTunes and building trees and buildings this morning. Gonna break out the tallow candles this evening. Taking tea break to check in. Mark
I can't wait to see how this will end up! (I'm sure it will be great!) Mark (Because my first name's the same! )
Gothic 2 has a branching dialog system, and practically every NPC is well developed. Oblivion has elements of it, but aren't nearly as realized as Gothic 2.
I see . . . that's what we're striving for as much as possible. I think I have a copy of Gothic 2 around here somewhere, perhaps it's time for a retro-gaming "research" session . . .
Highly recommended. Sometimes it's great to get some inspiration from classics. Especially if those never got old. Personally, branching dialogue system is what I am waiting for from the very beginning of advanced RPG on the iPhone. Do You think it is possible? To make dialogue system so advanced, that story would depend on what You have chosen in conversation with any NPC?
so since this game is evidently going to use the unity engine, does that mean that apple has decided not to ban unity engine games?
I was under the assumption that whole issue was just regarding the tool that was used to port flash games over to the iPhone.
With RPGs Gothic 2 Die Nacht des Raben (extension, whatever the name is in english I don't know) is definetly my favourite. I think it'S the only big RPG I actually finished!
Your probably right, I didn't know exactely what the issue was, all I knew was apple might have an issue with unity somehow...
It's all middleware, not just Flash. But so far the folks at Unity feel that they can work something out.
Well I know up to this point, Flash has been the only specific target of this at least from what most people can tell. With that said, if Apple really does go after all middleware, you can kiss 3D gaming on this platform goodbye with the exception of the handful of developers/publishers who have the resources to create their own 3D engine. Middleware is part of the modern gaming industry. I know Apple loves to have complete control but attacking any forms of middleware is a huge mistake.
awseome game, looked at the trailer, but it would be cooler if u could have a online multiplayer where you have people do pvp against each other , which would increase the interest of the game after you beat it.http://forums.toucharcade.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
