I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but can you buy your own house without taking it from someone? Or maybe getting your house from a quest like in Oblivion?
Slidetoplay just put up a preview for Aralon. I don't think theres too much that you cant get by reading the 100+ pages in this thread, but its worth a look for those who are information starved. i saw a interview where the developer said this game willl come out at the end of July ...... and i think now will come in octomber
That interview took place in the recesses of your own mind, my friend. End of July has never been a target for the release of Aralon, not since Galoobeth partnered with Crescent Moon. Please don't feed the rumor/disappointment mill.
We've been gathering source images as inspiration for the lands of Aralon - if you guys would like to put any in here (interesting pictures of different landscapes that will be found in Aralon) please do! We're going to be concentrating on the environments as soon as these characters are finished.
Here is a kind of landscape that, as far as I know, is not as played out in fantasy games. What you see in the background are geological formations called "mogotes," which are fairly common in Puerto Rico and Cuba but I've never seen anywhere else. In person they seem kind of otherworldly, like clouds made solid. Here's a free standing one.
I think some open moorland would be nice. Maybe with some random tors (granite rock) scattered about. Land like this is pretty common in Southern England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand etc.
So this game is coming out around October, even though just the characters/costumes are done, and it hasn't been decided what the game world will look like? Am I confusing this title with a similar upcoming one?
Probably with Rimelands, that is coming out soon. We have a lot of environment pieces made but there is still a lot more to do (we did not say October either) and we're currently searching for inspirational images to draw on for the various environments. Fishing is done! Now about that campfire thing....
Agreed, the problem with the terrain in oblivion was that it was ALL forest. I would love to see some terrain like that.
