Wow! It looks like a console game. Any word on a release? Or at least a time frame?

A part of me wishes I could play it now. But I know the more they work on it the better it will be.

I remember earlier on in this thread people were talking about being able to get married (Like Fable) is that in the game?

Eh, more like morrowind. But either way, that is some truly great work, can't wait.

This game is going to look amazing on iPad, and even better on the iPhone 4 with retina display!
I remember seeing the screenshots of Ravensword before it was released, and they blew my mind. But this game is looking even better. Great work :)

Yuh, I don't think the people saying it's like Oblivion have played Oblivion. Still, for an iDevice, this is very nice work.

The game isn't really like either of those games - its more like Dragon Age and WoW, but has a similar 'look' to Elder Scrolls. :p

More like Morrowind, oblivion looked a lot better, but Morrowind on a mobile phone is amazing. And I actuallly preffered morrowind to oblivion.

That's a shame, 'cos those two games are dog toffee compared to morrowind.

Really? I've found them to be more streamlined and enjoyable experiences. Oblivion, whilst good, always seemed to me to value the gameplay far less than the role-play elements; the combat left much to be desired. I think I'd rather have a game that had solid playability.

I'm talking about Morrowind not Oblivion, Oblivion lost a lot of what was good about Morrowind.

I enjoyed the freedom of being able to do what you want, I could buy a shopkeepers goods or I could rob him and take them, I could make a living as a thief, herbalist, assassin, bounty hunter or outlaw, there were so many different ways to play the game and even after hundreds of hours I don't think I saw 90% of the game.

Of course for a mobile phone the experience is going to be scaled down a lot but even if it had a fraction of Morrowinds playability I would be happy, it was all about choice and having the freedom to do what you want without being pushed in obvious directions and finding a way you wanted to play the game.

Dragon Age was a completly different type of game, not much exploration, nothing hidden below the surface, not much to do and only a few NPCs you could interact with (shopkeepers, main quests and a few side quests were the only NPCs you could converse with).

The combat and character customization is like Dragon Age, but the open exploration and level of interactivity with the environment is more like Morrowind. Not sure how much WoW comes into the equation beyond guilds and the ability to engage in non-adventuring activities like hunting, fishing, cooking, etc.

That' what Aralon is like, actually.

That sounds a lot more promising, can you join different factions (like the elven houses or the assassins guild in morrowind) and do missions for them?

What I mean by that is, is there's just a few missions and weapons, or will there be guild representatives in each town who will give you many hours of extra tasks, sort of like another game in itself as it was in Morrowind.

Speaking here as an original beta tester (not sure how far back you've followed this thread).

Yes you can -- the main city had guild houses where you could join (once you reached a certain level) and pick up missions. You could also break into houses, become an outlaw (at your own peril, since city guards would attack you on sight), kill any NPC in the game, and follow the main quest at your leisure.

Yeah I lurked on the thread pretty much from the beginning, so I've been following it.

That's what got me so exited because it sounded nearer to Morrowind than Oblivion was.

No matter how many RPGs I've tried since none of them come close, I realise to produce a massive game like that takes a long time, but I'd be happy to wait another year for this and have more content in the gameworld.

Basically, along with the graphical update, Galoobeth Games has also been adding to the content; by the time the game comes out, you will have gotten an extra 6 months worth of stuff :).

There's also the opportunity to extend the life of the game by adding expansion packs as dlc, which I hope they do , I'm a little suprised that ravensword didn't as cm made a great gameworld and a fantastic effort for the first real 3d rpg on the iphone bit after a while it got a bit empty. I suppose they had other fish to fry. This being one of them.

Any videos of the game in-action going to be released soon? I'd love to see a trailer for the new Aralon, or even just a short gameplay clip.

I think so, don't get me wrong is was groundbreaking and fun while it lasted but it was really just amazing for the fact it was on a phone/handheld console.

When compared to home console RPG games it was someway behind Zelda Ocarina of time (if just for length).

This game actually looks like it could put a lot of console RPGs, including the likes of DragonAge to shame.

Handheld RPGs have so far been restricted to JRPGs and Dungeon crawlers, I never thought I would see a proper full PC RPG on a handheld, even more amazing when you consider the size of the dev team.

I'm looking forward to this more than any other iPhone game.
