Not sure why anyone would write a comment like this, unless they have not followed this game at all. The core gameplay mechanics and RPG Elements are not from the same devs as Ravensword. According the Squarezero and other beta testers this was a fun game to play even before Cresent Moon partnered with Galoobeth Games to produce Aralon. If you read though this thread you will see the many many features that Aralon has. I was not able to beta test this game, but I am looking forward to it being one of the first MAJOR 3d RPGs on the iPlatform. My guess is that playing this game will be NothingLikeSleep Sorry, I couldn't resist
Were you asleep while playing it? If you don't like Action/Adventure RPG games then that's fair enough. But Ravensword is a great game, especially when you realise you're playing on an iPhone. And Aralon S&S will be even better.
Skill tree question... I have to say this game is quite visually impressive, nice job guys, I have a question though, I know there will be skill trees but I'd like to know is it going to be similar to diablo 2 skill trees? As in each class has three different skill trees in which to choose from, or is it going to be one large skill tree for each class? I've been trying to read as much as possible in these threads to keep me updated, but I'm only one guy lol. Thanks for your time.
In the beta, it was one skill tree per class with multiple branches -- I think that's what you meant when you said multiple skill trees.
Josh... Please enable anti aliasing for 3rd gen devices. That will make the game look good on that poor old screen.
Its a possibility - but obviously its going to slow the frame rate, which in my opinion is always bad. We'll definitely consider it though.
Well I meant like three separate skill trees. But basically I was asking if the classes could specialize in different areas within the skill tree such as a Mage who could specialize in fire abilities, or ice instead. Is there class specialization?
Sort of. But the system was more flexible than that. You could take a branch in the skill tree and focus on it, then back track and open up an ability so start on another branch.
Oh sweet, I like that. That allows for a wider form of customization. Now I just hope there's quite a bit of awesome abilities
In the original version there were quite a few really nice abilities available to each class, each distinct from those available in others, so apart from about two or so abilities I believe each class's strategy when it came to skills was completely different, therefore giving you hundreds of hours of playtime going through each class and their skills!
Well that's fair enough. I really hope they do deside to add that feature though. GameCenter achievements is the no. 1 thing i'm excited about the most about the iPhone, after Aralon off course.
Update Jason came up with a new terrain detail system. It allows us to place literally thousands of plants in an area, and display them with a distance fade in based system - and packs them in nodes for high performance. Depending on your device or choosing, you will be able to set the terrain detail level.
We are testing it on the devices as well as the PC. (it will also be a PC game a few months after it comes out for iDevices)
This sounds great ! I hope you will be able to choose ...for example if you have an iPod Touch 2Generation iPhone3gs graphics or something like that....Only for testing....Maybe the details will be worth the lower frame rate ^^ And...It is great that you keep us informated !!
