I'm in the market for a backup battery. I don't need anything spectacular, just something that works. I'm looking to spend around <$20.
I have a 30% discount at Dexim which offers this model: http://dexim.net/product/battery/DCA001.html (as well as a bigger one)

However, that's above my budget (but would still like to know if it's worth the price).
I've heard talk of a few on Amazon, but hear mixed reviews. Can anyone post some links to good battery backups?

I'm willing to sacrifice performance for a lower price. As long it's reliable.

    Thanks

I'm not sure that sacrificing performance/power is such a good thing.
I have the small one from Philips (SCE4420/10, which seems to have disapeared from their website) which costs about 25 - 30,- EUR.
But I got 1 1/2 charges on my iPod Touch when its drained.
And I can use it to charge various other USB-related stuff, like my mobile, etc, because it comes with a handy set of adapters.

With your 30% discount, the model you quoted would be $27.93. That's only what, $8 over your budget? So don't buy a game or two and spend the excess on it. :)

The only thing I would be concerned about such models, is the strain on the dock-connector, because of the battery weight.
That would mean for me to lay the iDevice and Battery flat on a surface instead of holding both in my hands...
Has anyone here one of these and can comment on this?

I reckon this is the kind of product aimed at charging your iPhone when it's out of juice, not to be used whilst you play games/etc.

But I guess it would depend on the weight of the battery like you mentioned.

Well I get 30% off at the place that I work, which happens to offer the same model, but for $50.

    I checked out the B&D one, it's $15. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-CP120B-20-Watt-Battery/product-reviews/B000H78YXQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

Mixed reviews (such as unreliable) Maybe I'll get the Dexim one, are you guys familiar with them?
