Any tips for beetle using beetle in coliseum mode? &
What does gaining armor means and how do you specifically gain one?

The armor pieces that are unlocked are purely visual, and has no effect on the character's actual armor rating.

    Bug Heroes Guide

The following is based on my opinions and what I like to use as well as being made ideally for Normal Difficulty which means the following should work for Easy with no problems. Information on the Ladybug and Attic map will be added later.

    Hero Overview & Skills

    Spider

Description: Spider is a solid pick because of fast speed and being able to assassinate important targets very quickly. Spider blades have good armour piercing that can take out big threats and spider has some fantastic support abilities like snare web to support your base turrets and ninja smoke to get out of danger.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Snare Web
    Superior Assassin
    Assassin Bomb
    Ninja Smoke
    Executioner

Skills: I like to put 3 or 4 points in speed then focus on assassinate although on restaurant you can go self defence instead to easily knock bugs off the ledges.

    Beetle

Description: Beetle is one of the best heroes because of his amazing tanking and ability to handle hordes of grubs or smaller bugs. He can activate various abilities at once to destroy big numbers of enemies of even dish out huge damage on centipedes and his health regen skill saves you on food.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Adrenaline
    Shockwaves
    Warrior Gauntlet
    EQ Jump
    Colossus

Skills: Focus on armour to start then stun unless you finding you health low then you can go for regen instead.

    Ant

Description: Ant is an excellent support hero, especially on hard where life support comes extremely valuable but he has the incredibly useful teleport for getting out of danger or for collection quests. His other abilities offer good support and his weapons maxed with lucky shot are great for keeping enemies like scorpions away.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Teleporter
    Ant Hole
    Life Support
    Better Base Guns
    Howitzer

Skills: I like to put 3 points in speed to keep away from melee enemies then max out lucky shot.

    Worm

Description: Worm provides amazing firepower and amazing crowd control and every piece of his equipment is good. As his shots go through multiple enemies he can quickly take out big groups of grubs, use explosive ammo for bigger targets like centipedes and really excels on narrow maps like kitchen were the enemy are in a line and his nuke helps a lot on those really difficult rounds.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Explosive Ammo
    Nuke
    Slime Grenade
    Claymores
    Autocannon

Skills: Early focus should be on Take Aim, then some into regen. Leave boom shot last because his other skills are higher priority.

    Termite

Description: Termite is a very popular hero right now mostly because of his synergy with Fly that helps with the cost of his turrets. His strengths lie in his turrets that can last a very long time and his AC turret in particular is great against all targets and does well against enemies with armour. His food cultivator is one of the best equipment in the game and can save you in times when your struggling to collect food.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Auto-Cannon turret
    Food Cultivator
    Spark Plugs
    Railgun-turret
    Satellite

Skills: Max out Workmanship for turret duration then do Optics.

    Fly

Description: Fly is probably the most used hero right now because of his speed and money making options. He also combines very well with termite and has the huge advantage of being immune to slugs slime. The abilities I use are to gain money quickly and get the most out of spinning shot for good damage. His speed and ranged attacks allow him to keep out of danger while picking off enemies and Fly is just a great way to use your money late game.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Pick Pocket
    Spinning Shot
    Quick Draw
    Scoundrel
    Money Shot

Skills: I like to put 3 or 4 points in speed then focus on theft skill.

    Stickbug

Description: Stickbug makes a great support hero and offers high single target damage and excellent spells. The spells work well for clearing large amounts of enemies and can combine with Fly for making extra money. His ward spells also offer good support for various things and he can even be kitted out to handle groups of smaller bugs with various staffs and AoE blasts.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Lightning Storm
    Earthquake
    Asteroids
    Phase Shift
    Freeze

Skills: Put some points in Focus first then do Mana to maximize your spells efficiency.

    Grasshopper

Description: Hopper is somewhat similar to Beetle but doesn't handle groups of bugs as easily can't tank very well. He does however, have the advantage of two abilities in hop and rocket kick that can be used for offence handle them as well as being a defensive tool to get out of danger. His miracle worker is also great for getting more food and with prayer and self sacrifice he can be used as a team healer.

    Favourite Abilities:

    Hop
    Rocket Kick
    Miracle Worker
    Inner Chi
    Prayer

Skills: I focus on faith early then switch to parry for best survivability.

    Hero Checklist:

Ideally your team of 3 heroes should have something for the following list, although turrets can be adjusted to make up the weaknesses for example using a lot of sniper's if your team is lacking against bigger enemies.

    - Speed for collection quests/food.
    - Groups of small bugs like fleas.
    - Hordes of grubs/siege maggot.
    - Escape Method(ex. Teleport/Ninja Smoke/Jump/Invulnerability).
    - Dealing with big threats quickly (ex. Grub Launchers)
    - Should be able to handle centipedes.

    Map Specific Strategies

    Kitchen

Turret Setup: MG, Zapper, 2x Laser

    Recommended Heroes:

    Spider/Beetle/Worm or Fly/Worm/Termite

    Map Tips:

Kitchen is an easy map so you shouldn't have many problems, the length of the table means laser turrets work well here as well as Worm firing down the lane and if you have anything that slows enemies, place near corner to aid turrets.. If your using termite place them near the corner as well or near the hole in wall to deal with grub launchers that generally come out of there.

    Office - Round 73 (N)

Turret Setup: MG, Zapper, Laser, Forcefield

    Heroes:

    Fly - Pick Pocket/Quick Draw/Spinning Shot/Scoundrel

    Beetle - WarriorGauntlet/ShockWaves/Colossus/EQ Jump

    Worm - Explosive Ammo/Slime Grenade/Nuke/Claymores

    Map Tips:

Somewhat similar and again laser turrets are good because of how narrow the table is and the forcefield is for helping against the large amount of grubs and centipedes. Some rounds you will have 4 or 5 centipedes coming at you and you must think carefully before using abilities, try and wait till they are grouped up to maximize damage.

    Playroom

Turret Setup: MG, Zapper, Sniper, Forcefield

    Recommended Heroes:

    Fly/Termite/+Any

    Map Tips:

Playroom is a tough level because of the amount of pill bugs and flea gunners, not only that but there will be a lot of siege maggots attacking which is where the forcefield helps a lot as it knocks them away. With fly you have good mobility and a ranged attack to pick enemies off and termites turrets will help a lot in defence. Some good options for the last hero are Stickbug/Beetle/Ant.

    Yard - Round 39 (N)

Turret Setup: MG, Zapper, Sniper, Forcefield

    Heroes:

    Fly - Pick Pocket/Quick Draw/Spinning Shot/Scoundrel

    Beetle - WarriorGauntlet/ShockWaves/Colossus/EQ Jump

    Termite - AC turret/Railgun turret/Spark plugs/Food Cultivator

    Map Tips:

Yard is huge and has lots of room to manoeuvre, and these turrets are chosen because you are attacked from all directions. As soon as it says friendly's have been held captive, be sure to rescue them asap as they are very helpful. The biggest threat here are the rounds with loads of scorpions, and you will want to activate EQ Jump and spark plugs when they are near your turrets and go near allies for help as well.

    Pond - Round 138 (N)

Turret Setup: MG, Sniper, 2x Laser

    Heroes:

    Fly - Pick Pocket/Quick Draw/Spinning Shot/Scoundrel

    Termite - GunTurret/AC turret/Railgun turret/Spark Plugs/Food Cultivator

    Worm - Explosive Ammo/Slime Grenade/Nuke/Claymores

    Map Tips:

Pond is pretty simple and this turret setup will do most of the work for you with lasers and the mg handling dragonflies, and the sniper for crabs/snails.
You will want to place your termite turrets near the spawn to the left which is where the giant spiders and queen ants usually spawn. Worms nuke is available if you have trouble taking queen ants out, and you must be extremely careful when crossing the pond to not get trapped as this team lacks an escape option.

    Garden

Turret Setup: MG, Zapper, Forcefield, Magnifier

    Recommended Heroes:

    Fly/Beetle/Worm or Fly/Hopper/Stickbug

    Map Tips:

Probably the hardest map along with restaurant and one that is tough to find a good team and turret setup for, however the forcefield works well because of how close the grubs spawn near your stash and likewise the magnifier works well here as the enemy are clustered and within close range. You will need to take out the healing ladybug's asap as well as the necromancers before the summons start to build up.

    Restaurant

Turret Setup: MG or Forcefield, Zapper, 2x Sniper

    Recommended Heroes:

    Fly/Beetle/Termite or Fly/Beetle/Worm

    Map Tips:

MG or zapper is required because of the large amount of gnats, and there is 2 big problems you will face on this map. The first is a food shortage because of devourers spawning which are now really hard to take out so you may wish to rely on termite's food cultivator till you can deal with them. The second is the Hungry Bug's which is why I use 2 snipers to help deal with them and the auto cannon turrets are also a huge help. You need to be careful not to get trapped on one of the other tables against the hungry bugs as beetle's abilities are the only thing you will have to get back.

    Tips vs Hungry Bug's:

i've been using Ant, Stickbug and Termite
for ant i upgrade anthole, portable turret, plasmagun n better base guns
for stickbug i hv lightning, earthquake, asteroids and freeze
for termite, i hv 3 turrets n food cultivator
for base i have MG/Zapper/2 Snipers

Ant: anthole is for immediate escape, portable turret is great for taking out queen ants (drop the turret behind n near the queen ant so tat it only targets the queen, u can walk away to do other stuffs), plasmagun n base guns is for dmg
Stickbug: its attack has a good knockback, earthquake is great for taking out hordes of smaller bugs and also for stunning centipedes, freeze is also a good stun, lightning n asteroids are great for clearing the entire map
Termite: drop turrets around ur base to compliment ur base guns, then switch to Ant to knock back enemies, food cultivator is awesome by itself. pay attention tat termite turrets arent cheap

personally, i like ladybugs, its like a hybrid of spider assassin n beetle

Yeah but I think Ladybug just lacked speed/teleport(spider), and knock-over move(beetle) to make any contribution in the early rounds. However, in the late round, he's great at taking care of bosses 1on1, but he will have to lose some chunk of health to do so. Im thinking about getting switching grasshopper's offensive role to healing role and partnered him with ladybug to see where it will take me.

While I ill like to detract from a project such as this, and while the information in this guide is *very* valuable, a forum thread is not the best place for a strategic game database. And Bug Heroes is perhaps one of the iOS games that most warrants a centralized place of information and strategy advice.

So, I've just created the first Bug Heroes Wiki and online database of strategy advice and world information.

K?!, Oxynidus, and the rest of all ye talented Bug Heroes, would you consider moving all of your strategies, hero and base builds, advice, hints, and experience over to the wiki, and make it the one-stop central shop for Bug Heroes information?

I'll do me best to populate the wiki myself, but I'm still wrestling with getting past levels 25-30 on easy (and am a person generally busy with that much less advanced simulation called real life. Bug Heroes is about the only game I've time for with any regularity), and might not be the best suited for hardcore strategy advice ;)

If I get you fellas on board, I can focus on the world of Bug Heroes, something I'd prefer and have much more fun with, and leave the survival principles to them who can ;)

Foursaken Media, would you have anything against us reposting the numbers and stats for enemies, turrets and abilities you've posted in these forums, pictures from the game and of enemies and heroes, as well as your official descriptions of the heroes, on the wiki?

For easy maps I can get up to Round 20 to Round 30 base on the map I'm playing. For normal I have only tried kitchen but I barely pass round 20.

This excellent thread is dying. K?!, can you make a guide for all the other heroes too?
And any other pros out there, like Oxynidus, broadpfc, Nullroar, can you share tips and strategies for the new heroes as well?

That's kinda my fault ;) But don't worry, amends are already being made. See, I started a Bug Heroes wiki, since a forum thread is not the ideal place for strategy advice, once the different individual tactics starts rolling in. It already has quite a lot of good advice, and as soon as we deem it ready, Foursaken Media will post a link to it on their Facebook page.

I've considered typing together a Fly Coliseum guide, and if I do, I'll post it here as well.

The wiki page doesn't have a lot of strategies I've seen players post on this thread. Also it seems that K?! and others have stopped contributing, there aren't any guides to any of the new heroes on that wiki.

    this guide/wiki

Ok guys i have had a look at the wiki and quite frankly there isn't much stratergy there. Especially the turrets, there is no laser and we should all use mushrooms because oxynidus lkes them. Iknow you are one of the best, if not the best oxy but i'm sure you will agreee that mushrooms should not be used every time on every map all the time. I have some stratergy guides to put up there but they completely contradict with your turret descriptions and ability descriptions. What should i do? And i am not just any old noob, my stratergies work, i am on level 113 on a game at the moment, not dead and i have included the screenshot at round 100. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to tell me
