Ok, so my friend is looking for a camera app that lets you set a timer. Are there any good ones out there?

I think Snapture may have a timer. Can't remember for sure but it's a good app with a lot of nice features, including zoom.

    Edit: nevermind it doesn't... :(

Thanks anyways Outkast, if Snapture had a timer it seems like it would be an even better app.

Thanks iGew, CG does have a timer, I'll let my friend know :)

Also, iTimeLapsePro has snap intervals and can make time lapse movies.

Hmm, has good reviews. But wait, you take pics to compile into a video

If you get the Jailbroken version of Snapture (from Cydia) it has a timer of up to 10 seconds.

Yes, it's more of a time lapse movie app. I haven't tried taking single pix on the timer, but I would think it would work? [edit - just tried it and you can export individual frames/shots it looks like] ... wasn't sure if maybe you wanted a camera app that could take multiple timed shots like time lapse movies... if not - sorry about that!

My friend doesn't want to JB :p

Well I'm not sure. He just said he wanted a camera app with a timer. So idk if TimeLapse would be too much work for him :p

Is that still on there? I thought they took it off Cydia once it came to the appstore...

Also after I realized (appstore) Snapture has no timer I went investigating... Camera Genius was featured on Apple's Top Selling Apps of 2009 (i think it was top selling, might have been best app) but the reviews were not good at all :( Lot of people complaining that it crashes and stuff.

Yea I checked out CG, lots and lots of 1 stars due to various major bugs. If I recommend an app to my friend and he buys it, and it crashes etc, he'll attack me; he's cheap lol.

Just search 'Camera Timer' on the App Store. There are plenty of apps, I can find 10+ just on the first page.

Yeah, that's why reading the reviews is not always a good idea. Camera Genius is and was by far the best camera app in the store. With the latest version a bug was introduced, which COULD cause crashes on CERTAIN devices. I use this app nearly every day and NEVER had a crash. Anyway, the author released immediately a patch for the bug, but the patched version is still not approved by Apple.

As I said, just reading the reviews of the current version will not give you the complete picture. Again: Camera Genius is just brilliant and should be on every iPhone.

Ah that makes sense. I'll probably pick this up then and wait for the update or get it after the update. My digi camera broke so my iPhone has become my only camera now. Snapture is great I really like it, but I'm bummed it doesn't have the auto-timer feature.
