Not very long at all As you can see from the screenshots, it's very, very close but there are a few nagging bugs and features that really have to be in before release and it's hard to give a firm estimate on how long it'll take. Sorry, I know that isn't a great answer but in the mean time, keep watching the website as we announce more details on the characters, maps and game modes so you'll be completely ready to take on the killer AI opponent when you get your hands on the game
So the best way to get this on other platforms is so support the game in earnest then? I'd love to see this on the Xbox, for example, as it'd make a fantastic addition to Worms as a fun, engaging TBS to play locally with my mates.
On another note, did you ever think any more on the "random placement of baddies" side of things? This would add a great deal of replay to the game. At the very least, you could have 4 corners of the map as spawnpoints, with each of the two teams starting in one corner - the random element would be you could start in any of the four corners, with the AI team starting in the exact opposite corner. This would at least add a very slightly random element to the Skirmish mode.. Any thoughts on this?
The corner idea would only really give 2 different options because the levels are actually symmetric to make them fair. Moj has done a fantastic job at making the levels appear fluid and random but from a gameplay perspective it wont matter if you start at the near or far side of the map. The other idea that's being considered is to have a 'randomise' button that scatters your units within your 1/3 of the battlefield. Each team will have the same random scatter to keep the game fair to make sure one team doesn't end up with all their units next to flags for example.
Yes! Loving the second idea you've come up with - the scattering button sounds perfect. Do it do it do it! And the reason I keep harping on about this for the 360 is that it looks a tiny bit squished on the iPhone, I think to really enjoy this game fully it needs some full-screen loving. I've not got much chance of getting an iPad anytime soon, but this would be a wonderful game to play on my fat ole TV with my buddies sat alongside.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think the iPhone can do TV out with a dongle. While DA doesn't support TV out *yet*, would that satisfy your need for group sessions?
Hm, doesn't it have to be an Apple TV, or something silly? To be honest, it would be a bit pants passing a phone around to play a game with my mates. Plus the screen would be just as crowded, just on a bigger display, and using the iPhone as a controller wouldn't translate very well onto a TV. It would just feel odd. No no, what this needs is a proper 360 release based on the swanky iPad code; proper use of the full hi-res screen, nice handy controllers, and a local multiplayer mode with up to 4 teams You know it makes sense!
? Well I'm still left wondering what's going on... I keep seeing new stuff about the game, but no clear answer to when it gets submitted, or if it has been submitted yet.
I guess it will be out when it's ready, we know they're working on it and want it out as soon as we do. So patience is all we need, really I'm still waiting for a definite confirmation of a 360 version, that would make all my pestering and begging worthwhile!
I seem to have taken on the role as TOMEStudios TouchArcade Representative of late, so here's some more news
Per Tomestudios twitter account (when someone asked about the release date): "Release... last estimate puts us submitting to the app store on the 24th of June. So, soon after that! Don't tell anyone! "
Well, better late and polished than rushed and buggy Oh, and thanks for your signature Marcus70! Found a couple of untried gems there
