Best game ever. All though I would like to see buttons to do loops and etc, rather then swipe you finger across the screen.
1951 World War One and Fastar! are both great games, but 1951 has only 7 ratings since July 29, whereas Fastar! has 66 ratings since July 30. The main difference between the two games is price - .99 vs 1.99 I'm waiting for the price drop.
Farstar has a well known name behind it and front page coverage as well. 1951 is easily worth more than $2. I know I'd rather play thus game than fight squares.
I joined to tell the 1951 devs what they don't want to acknowledge, that their game isn't perceived by the public as being worth 1.99 ; they can keep pretending, but the longer they stonewall, the more money they will lose.
That's my point exactly. If the prices were the same this game would sell more. Neither game is on the iTunes front page or in any of the expanded categories.
instead of dual sticks you tilt but works very well.problem are f..kin kamikaze enemies(dev. sort this out)
I think visual is good, the sound is good, the gameplay is alright, but these 3 things are annoying me: 1. clouds, more than once cloud covers my plane in the middle of a shootout, It feels like blindfolded and it is no fun 2. No instruction on how to get those special moves and how to use them, may be I miss something or just plain dumb 3. The worst thing is from wave 4 onwards, the enemy tends to run into you but they don't seems to hurt, which is quite unfair. Sounds like I am the only person here who whine about this, even though the above by no means game killing, but they are defects in my book.
He reminds me more of a non-specific idiot. Some app store reviewers occasionally have a wee bit of constructive criticism to share.
1. Yes, I noticed the clouds. For me it rarely happens and actually ads to game's character. 2. The special moves are listed in instructions section. You can only use them if you have enough adrenaline. In the top right corner of the game screen the special moves icons glow when they are availble to be used. 3. I think they do hurt, but not enough to start giving smoke. I actually witnessed two enemy planes smash into each other and break into pieces.
Ok, been playing this a Lot since yesterday (total exp ~42000), and have some thoughts... As mentioned above, the clouds are a real pain. It doesn't appear that you can hide in them while waiting for the repair icon to relight, so while it's a cool visual effect they're more of a hindrance. I have yet to be shot down, yet wave 8 is still as far as I can progress. Mid air collisions are definitely the biggest danger, and finding a way to tone these down would be welcome. I did make it to wave 9 briefly, but then was killed by flak of all things. While it does add a nice bit of chance/luck to the game, it seems like it will target you quite accurately if you're running away to recharge the repair ability. Or is that my imagination? The special moves and abilities are wasted for me, as I save and spend all of my adrenaline on repairs after the inevitable mid air collisions. They are cool though, I just wish I had more chances to use them after level 4 or 5. It's not all bad though... Had a chance to play with sound on, and really like the audio effects! It plays very nicely on an iPad. The hit boxes on the enemy are perfect IMO. You really need to shoot accurately to score hits. In spite of the issues I have, I keep playing over and over and over... Very addictive no matter what.
Now that this game was positively reviewed by TouchArcade, sales should be boosted. I'm still loving everything about the game. The sound effects and overall feel leave for a memorable experience. As others have stated, the Kamikaze fighters should be toned down just a wee bit. A little more shooting should be going on.
