Uhm, didn't this game have Retina support? I just updated it to 2.0 and the resolution is horrible. The game just looks plain ugly. I've tried to reinstall it once, but it didn't help.
I heard the game was having problems on 4.1, but I just picked it up while it was on sale and I hope they fix all the problems up soon! Having said that I've been wanting to play it for ages, so I followed the instructions from Headshot in this post, and got it working on my Jailbroken IOS 4.1 Iphone 4. I think if you replicate these steps exactly it should work for anyone using 4.1 - however, I have had some performance issues. Also note that it may affect other applications, and there's a small chance you could mess up your install and have to do a restore. If you have previously installed Dungeon Defenders: 1. Delete the game. 2. Power off your Iphone, then power it back on. 3. Continue on with the next steps. If you have or haven't previously installed Dungeon Defenders: 1. Open iFile or any other iPhone file system browser/editor. 2. Make your way to /System/Library/CoreServices. 3. Open the file SystemVersion.plist. 4. Find <string>4.1</string>. 5. Change it to <string>4.0</string>. 6. Power off your phone, and power it back on. 7. Open your settings, and look for the Dungeon Defender settings. 8. Enable the "Run in English?" setting, and make sure all other settings are disabled. 9. Run the game, and when it asks whether to use game center or gamespy, make sure you choose game spy. If anyone else tries it, let me know how they go. I'm pretty certain it will work so long as you do it from a fresh install.
Make sure you go into "options" and drag the "Video Upscale Percentage" slider to the very far right.
Might not want to go all the way thru, with maximum resolution it lags even on an iPhone 4. Minus cool points for that.
Thanks dude! And.. what retarded piece of crap function is that? "Oh, hey guys, let's add this feature that totally downscales the resolution and makes the text unreadable, just because.. we can!" "That Mr. Johnson, is an excellent idea! Let's make it default that the resolution is on the very lowest as well, so that if the user wants to change it, he can't even read what options feature he has to change!".
No worries, I've seen a lot of people ask the same thing. To be honest, mine actually defaulted in the middle which makes things more than clear enough, so I'm not too sure how it works >_>
Yes, gamecenter is still a little buggy but overall it's much better than before. I havent yet tried gamespy though.
Trendy, is my problem common? I've been having a sound issue since forever. One random day in the Tavern my sound is rerouted to the call speaker and it never plays out on the loudspeaker anymore in the Tavern and I aslso have no background music now. Compared to my friend's 4th Gen ipod touch my iPhone4 takes 3 or 4x longer to start up, yes no background tasks. And it freezes for about 3 minutes or so if I tried to search/connect/join a game. Extra notes: Same wifi when I tested both devices. Mine has been like this since version 1. Also, performance wise I noticed the iPod was snappier on the menus on the same graphics slider. I'm frustrated as I can't even use GameCenter now and its so challenging to play solo after the update. I'm contemplating deleting the app and reinstalling from a fresh download but i'll obviously lose all my data and equipment. Did I mention its a lot harder to play solo now?
So I'm not too happy playing online trendy. If this has already been addressed as a patch issue then I apologize but online play is still so buggy. Then only way I can play online casually it seems is by Quick Matching using Gamecenter. Same as before the updating. Sure I can add a player and host games using Gamecenter only it appears but I still get drops from my joined players. Gamespy is cool except it doesn't work at all. I am desperately wanting to play this game using Gamespy cause I like the filtered list it populates but are you guys working on it or are there just a few of us with this issue? Is it an IPhone issue or do droid players get to use gamespy normally? Fix it Trendy!
Meh? Just bought this game a couple ago when it was on sale and I'm really loving it. Only problem is that neither gamespy or gamecenter let me join games a it always times out on the connection. Gamespy won't host games but gamecenter will let me although it can't ever find matches.
Leveling is painfully slow now. I started a fresh character post 2.0. And at level 8, i can solo the first level on insane, and it nets me ONE level. WTF? Really? Pre-2.0 the game was too easy to level and fairly easy to play. Now it's dreadfully slow to level and near impossible to solo. Tower play at the higher levels is woefully underpowered. I absolutely love the game, but it needs to be rebalanced, badly.
While I can't speak for the impossibility of soloing at higher levels, I think the leveling pace is very close to perfect. It strikes a very careful balance between rewarding players, and making them too powerful too fast. Significantly faster, and reaching the maximum level would be a rather trivial affair, over in a few days. Now, it is an epic undertaking, giving me something to aim and work for that will probably last for weeks (I've little time to play), but still achievable.
Thanks a bunch! also as some people said before leveling is a little painful can we have a little help and weapon drops are terriable i'm level 10 and still getting torn items with the rare occasion of something good.
