I think what most people are trying to say, they had lots of time and did promise fixes. But people are complaining because they like this game in some sort of way and want to play it...

Granted, but the way they are going about their "complaining" is coming off sounding like an entitled gamer. Which is not the way to do it. If you complain do so constructively. I understand the frustration on both sides of the spectrum (Consumer and Developer) and you will get to play this but in due time. Just be patient.

Thanks. We take full responsibility for the mess this patch as been and are really sorry to our fans; we hope we can make it up to you.

The fact of the matter is, our small team is spread even more thin then you imagine. We are not only working on the console versions (which were supposed to be finished a long time ago, but have been held up due to publisher drama), but two unannounced titles, as well as Arena (a mobile-only PvP version/extension of Dungeon Defenders), and some mobile/handheld Dungeon Defenders stuff that we can't announce yet (but you'll probably find out 1 such thing on Feb. 13th).

That said, we have no excuse for releasing such a buggy patch. It did not get the adequate Q&A that the Android version had received, and we hope to never make this mistake again. We thank you (our users) and Apple for helping us through this process and allowing us to get the patch to you as quickly as possible!

Don't blame yourself entirely. The amount of work you have ahead of you and that you currently have on your plate should help people to realize that you can't always do everything you promise within the deadlines you say. I understand this as a dev and I guess thats why I can see the different sides that each party is proposing. Being both a consumer and a developer is really beneficial. Congrats so far and I hope everything else runs smoothly. Best of luck and if you need any assistance with anything let us know!! I am sure there are plenty of fans who are eagerly wanting to help.

I feel that this game is fantastic and worth all this commotion about the patches and bugs and fixes. I don't enjoy the idea of people feeling bad for an over achieving indie group no matter what. Criticism only makes them work harder and see mistakes so they grow and hopefully put out kick ass sequels and even larger projects. I think Trendy is just doing too much and overstretching their resources some. I don't mind the mishaps bit I don't like bogus patches like this one:) I'll be patient I've been in QA and Publishers before as a worker and there's a lot of factors to consider amd I just don't get how all this is to be done without mistakes. It's a great trip so far though.

Now fix the damn online mode! :)

I understand technical difficulties with voice chat during battle, but what about text chat, or even a set of customizable preset phrases, something to convey a point to a teammate.

I am not an "entitled" gamer, I like the game so much that I want it to be the best it possibly can, so much so that I would PAY for additional content and features. So far, I think DD:FW is one of the best titles in the AppStore, and with a few upgrades it can be THE best, to achieve this I believe that the social aspect of this game needs to be a focus point, because word of mouth sells apps.

The text chat would be something that could work well if implemented correctly. Say adding a button within the Hero section, that allows a chat section to open up. When a new message is posted a badge could pop up on the hero icon letting the user know of new text. I want this game to become the best it can be as well, however, the way people are going about conveying their thoughts is coming off a little differently than they may think.

I want to add my voice to this. If Trendy Entertainment (I so prefer the abbreviation "Trendy Ent" ;) ) ever feels that upgrading Dungeon Defenders with more free (always the preferred alternative) content is not economically viable, I'd gladly pay for stuff such as new maps, game modes and heroes.

Again, agreed. I believe the appeal of this game will only grow the more advanced communicative and community features it gains.

That was fun osmiral! Also DD:FW is my fav app. And I would gladly pay for console maps, familiars, heroes, and etc. Anyways I would kill to live in florida now. Also I know this is a bit much for you guys but I'm trying to give you guys advice to make DD even better. But today I played on hard on full graphics. The lag was so bad I couldn't walk. Is there anyway with the iPhone 4 hardware, you can increase the framerate for people who use full graphics. And ive been asking forever for more customization with heroes and weapons. It's not frustrating that it hasn't been addressed but I do want it so badly on my iPhone. I'm dying for a green squire and I know people who want blue monks and people who want red apprentices. I also know people who are always saying " man I wish I could change this weapons color so badly!" so I know it's not just me. Just wanted to give my advice and thank you guys for making an incredible game!

Yeah the graphics thing is amazing but having it lag badly on hard or insane when set to high is kinda annoying being that the high graphics were made for the iphone 4. It's ok if theres not really anyway to speed it up except for turning down the graphics (usually have mine set to the middle and it runs fairly well and it looks great). The only other thing is that when turning down the graphics would there be anyway to stop the text and gui from losing quality after a little, so just the rest of the graphics do, because otherwise if the graphics are set to low it makes it nearly impossible to read. Thanks again for the great game!!!

Does it matter which weapon you level up? Will the starting weapon be equal to another weapon of the same level?

It matters a lot. Really, really much. A maxed out starting weapon (level 15) will not even be close to a weapon of considerably higher rarity, even if that weapon is at level 1.

That said, there is no end to mana, so if you don't mind grinding, go level up every bit of equipment you can find ;-)

(Speaking of weapons, if you haven't already, take a close look at the gift boxes left of the fireplace in your tavern...)

Don't worry about it. take your time. 4 rushed updates aren't as good as 1 good one!

/signed! And the fact that I, in spite of the dire need for updates and the incomplete state of the game, have only had this fun in exactly 4 other iOS games is very telling...

Is there a post in this thread that a newbie can get some tips from? It's a long thread with some stuff irrelevant and I tried searching to no avail.

Like for one - I got the four weapons as a valentine's gift I suppose but now they fill my items box. Is there anyplace to store them. In the Tavern is only the place to store mana and upgrade the weapons with the mana but I want to place some away for safe keeping. I found some other stuff like armor but had no way to pick them up.

Literally some guide for day one players?
