Don't worry about the IAP. It's only a quicker way to buy MANA. The only thing you can do with Mana is level up your weapons and gear without the inane grind AGAIN, after you spent weeks getting that weapon. It will NOT allow people to power level, skip levels, skip content, etc. They have also stated that you can still only get the best items in game, by completing the hardest difficulty missions and challenges... NOT by purchasing them. They said all maps will be free, from what I read. Honestly, they have to make money somehow, and some people don't like to spend days grinding to find a good weapon, and then grind the same thing again for a week to level it up... those people can either grind away, or they can buy some mana from the tavern keeper and speed up THAT process. That is all. Nothing game breaking from what they've said. I'm happy to finally hear that. Not happy that the patch is taking so long, but glad the developers are trying to keep ALL players happy, and not just the 20 people still left playing this game...lol. They want to expand the game, they need to make it attractive to a wider range of people if the online portion is going to thrive (which will either kill the game, or make it shine). They also need to make money SOMEHOW... and I dunno DaDramaLlama, I don't see many people on the official forums requesting character customization. I don't think it's a bad idea, but I'm with a lot of others in that I'd rather see all of the bugs and kinks worked out first, and get more of the console content into the mobile version to allow a wider range of levels to play together. Then they can go hog wild on all the bells and whistles, but they won't bother with things that will require complete rewriting of a large portion of the code if they don't have the funding (they may not want to bother with some of that anyhow, for fear of breaking the game again... who knows. Seems like they WANT to support the mobile version just as much as the console, which is great... but if there isn't enough funding/players, it would be stupid of them to bother, regardless of how much the few of us here now play). [4.0 UPDATE] Dungeon Defenders 4.0 iOS has been submitted to Apple for review. Includes PvP competitive mode, new maps, and shopping system! https://twitter.com/trendyent/status/32843661288931328 ETA for the patch? Would it be this weekend or it might take up to two weeks like 2.0?
As I've said before, character customization is just very difficult in the current mobile build of the game. And yep, you basically hit our IAP model on the nose. Also a large part of our game is skill (tower defense), so it's not like IAP takes that away. And no eta yet, when we know more about the status of the patch we'll let you all know!
Looking forward to the update (again). Hopefully no hiccups with Apple this time. Sounds like I will have a Lot to do once I get my hands on 4.0.
@TrendyEnt team: Sorry if this has been covered before but does the submitted update have any performance optimizations? I played version 2.0 of this game, 10 minutes maybe (before I deleted it cause I have 4.1 so I need to modify some files in order to start the game), and I experienced lag on iPhone 4. I'm really looking forward to play this game without any lag, especially on iPhone 4.
Glad to hear it's been submitted...very anxious to see all of this! Finally getting iOS users and Android users together will make Gamespy game lobby grow! I just hope Gamecenter will still suck for online play so everyone goes gamespy...lol. I want to see the games list grow fast!
Experiencing heavy lag right after minimize and maximize again. But still playable till I finish one level. 1 question here : why on my itunes, DD:FW is showing version 7218.224
quickly losing faith in Trendy as of late.....bugs, not enough updates on whats going on, update skipped due to bugs yet again......come on.
The update which fixes everything has been submitted to Apple (v4.0). There's also a whole bunch of new content, PvP mode (which is not DD:Arena), and Shop system in the update. Besides that, we ourselves don't really know anything at this point. Once we do we will let you all know!
I haven't played this game in weeks because every time I try, the game has to crash 4 or 5 times with 1 or 2 iPad resets, before it even runs. I'm really hoping this new update fixes it all. The fact that 3.0 was scraped because it crashed on Apple, is very scary....
PMasher I'm still confused on what color a character is would highly influence the gameplay on the idevice. Does it take that much memory to have a different color hero?
