So is this a confirmed start all over or a bug or someone simply just not restarting their device and the update wiping the save file? I personally would think it would be important to add this piece of info in the update notes to avoid 1 star ratings.
Well that's even better! Would you recommend waiting on the update as you guys look into it? I didn't get to play much due to the crash so I'm happy to start over.
After install and restart of ip4 non jailbroken I get following message,"potential crash detected disable movies may help." then a 2nd message,"potential crash would like to use(or) disable gamespy." anyone else?
Did you reboot your phone to clear all the memory that was used up from the install? I got it as well (I was anxious to get playing) but I rebooted and haven't seen it since
And that bet wouldn't have anything to do with the dev posting that 20 minutes ago? I'm just saying that if a game changes the way stats are distributed and you get to keep those stats it ruins the balance of a game. I'm starting over completely but If I managed to catch up to all the guys and gals that have been playing all this time they would STILL be far more powerful than me because they have benefits from their unbalanced stats. The only time I've ever seen a game not delete save data for that was a console game (never released ) when it retroactively adjusted the stats. When I saw that in the updates I immediately figured they would nuke old players for a new leveling system. I'm really happy that they are looking into it though as all these high level characters can help me grind
Dangit, lost my characters, oh well I guess its just something more to do I still love this game but its kinda stupid that I lost my character, oh well. At least now I can name my character what I wanted EDIT: Although I understand if this was intentional as it lets everyone be equal instead of having unbalanced stats and stuff
Did all updaters lose their toons or just some of us? I just don't get how something this huge can happen...
Here's one example: In the previous patch they opted to let people keep their max level characters, which essentially created a huge divide between people just starting out and those who got to farm massive amounts of exp and godly items on ogre crush. This was, of course, the correct thing to do. In fact, for most games they will never opt to just straight out delete your saves since they'd be shooting themselves in the foot. It is imbalanced as hell, yes. But your claim that the standard is to wipe saves in this situation is ridiculous.
It's actually not ridiculous since I've seen it several times in TD and RPG games I've beta tested. The AppStore is filled with indie devs that don't have the resources to work on past stats (though that also has to do with how badly they were balanced in the first place) and having two "tiers" of players just makes things more difficult for everyone. So let's get back to talking about the game instead of what I already admitted to being a mistake on my part (a mistake I am HAPPY to have made) over an hour ago and was already confirmed by the devs.
Sigh. Looks like I'm not playing this game anymore. Good game though devs. Been playing since the first minute of release =}
Don't delete it!!! They are still looking into the issue but if you delete the app (or don't save with App Backup) you won't be able to get the character back if/when the issue is resolved. Also, Which service has more TA players on it? GameSpy or Game Center?
