You know after following this game for a while (ie. since it came out) I've started to realize something. This Game pushes the very limit of iOS gaming. It requirers everything your system can give it. A soft restart to clear any cached memory and a quick check to make sure no other apps are running, then you are guaranteed a good start. Yes there is lag in Gamespy but the options we get there make it better then gamecenter. At least it's lag instead of constant "host drops", that's a good improvement. I also have a feeling that not everyone adjust their graphics (video upscaling) when they play multiplayer, which would add to the lag. The developers have put a lot of time and effort trying to make this game right. This is the "state of the art" UnReal engine on iSO. If there were no bugs it wouldn't be "state of the art" ;P But if they keep trying, which they have been, they'll get it right. There is a lot other cool stuff that has been added, too. I have a feeling one the ideas behind this game was to make it feel NOT lonely. Adding pets and the tavern keeper was a great step in that direction. I happen to love the fact that when I'm in the tavern, I can see outside through the windows! Sometimes its the little things that make us happy. That's why paying attention to detail is a big plus++ I always loved this game from day one, and now I'm glad it is stable enough to play. Keep it up trendy ^^
I've been keeping posted on this game since it's release and I can honestly say that I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get it. I just don't know if I should wait to get it or if I should go ahead and ignore all the bugs and buy it. I'm on the fence about whether I want it bad enough to buy it at the state it's in or just wait. And then there's the bittersweet about not buying it earlier and experiencing it before the saved data got deleted but then having that saved data deleted and having to start over. I honestly cannot decide one way or the other. Anyone have any advice?
I'd get it now cuz a lot of us lost our toons and have to start over. And game has less lag/more stability
I think now is just the best time to grab it. The bugs are different now than they used to be. This game is coming together very well. Buy it you will be surprised how amazing it really is! Has the patch been discussed yet to keep my characters? When can I finally update and bring my mates along?
So I just bought the game. And the "how to play" and movie reel icon does nothing when I press it. What do?
Did you disable movies when starting the application? If so you have to re-enable them to watch. Once they're enabled, the button should work and you'll be good
Just in case you coudnt find it, the movie enable or disable switch is in your main operating system settings. Not in game.
BTW, 4.3 has now been submitted to Apple. So if you wish to maintain previous save data (or have successfully used the methods of recovering previous iOS data), you will be able to update and use your characters when it launches
I've updated to 4.2 yesterday but it never got past the loading splash screen (just exits). Is my character save data ok when I go to 4.3?
Hi! I haven't really been following this game much, but am still very interested in it. I just have to ask... Can it actually be played offline, without an internet connection (as i have an ipod touch! so won't always have internet!), or is it online only? Also I'm curious, its coming to pc, but will it also come to the mac as well? I was wondering if i'd see it in the mac app store at some point? (and I apologise if these have been asked already.... but theres 288 pages!)
Yes you can play offline, although some maps/challenges will require help from other players. The majority of the maps are soloable offline. No sure if its coming to the Mac though.
I can't solo Oakvale, I don't even want to try. I see so many damn spots where the archers would rape.
Have a question. When I enter online quick match, few moments later I'm unable to attack, I tap on attacking buttons but nothing happens. Am I missing something?
Could anybody tell me if there is any other purpose to the Tavern other than it acting as a menu/lobby? I know it shows your achievements and stuff but is there anyway to personalize it even more? If you wanna team up by the way my GameCentre is WilliamEvans
Your Profile says you have an iPod Touch 1G? If that is still correct, this game won't work on that device (because it uses the Unreal 3 Engine!)

Go to the online thread for a sec. Also I am so pleases with thus update but I do feel like DD is still far from where it could and should be. The first game I played on the new update was the deeper well(obviously). It ran so damn smooth but after that I dealt with huge lag spikes. So I don't know if this is a bug but if you guys can get it to run like it did on deeper well....I would be in love. And how the HELL did you guys get your game to run so smooth to get any footage for the iOS trailer?
