I spent about four hours playing this game yesterday on my iPad, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The tutorial was a bit of a chore--you should be able to close the text, speed it along, or skip it alltogether--but once I got to the actual game, I had a lot of fun. I played through the first three levels solo. I beat the first one on normal, then rebeat it on hard, and beat the second and third on hard. I found it challenging playing solo, but I like TD games to be challenging, so I always play them on hard (I played the recent Sentinel3 on Psycho). I found the TA review very overly harsh of the game's faults and very under appreciative of what the game offers. Everyone has their opinion, of course, but I think the game is overall a quality product at a very good price. Saying they couldn't recommend the game and calling it unfixably-broken seemed unfair to the developer. It's a more complex game than a lot of the indie games and simple games that seem to get a lot of love, but I personally am glad to see the IOS platform get more complex games. I haven't tried the game on my iPhone yet, but on the iPad I had zero problems with the hud or the control layout. I would like swipe controls for the camera as opposed to the turn-arrows, the tutorial doesn't do a good job of showing you how to level up items in the forge, and there doesn't seem to be any story once you get past the opening movie, but overall I had a lot of fun with the game and plan to play it all the way through. I've enjoyed the strategy, the leveling up, the enemy and tower types, the money management, and the graphics quite a bit. As I said, I've already had four hours of fun with the game, and it only cost me $2.99. That's not a bad deal at all. I've had less fun for shorter periods with iPhone games I've payed more for. This game isn't perfect, but it is good, and I'd definitely recommend it to TD/action RPG fans.
i'll try, mud anyone I should invite/add? i'll try getting a room up. I could do it the other time >.>
if it doesn't connect means my wifi is gimped again. And i'd have to use some elaborate rerouting through my laptop to get it to work. >.>
Hey guys. I really hate to be this guy, but I was wondering if anyone has some spare godly, epic, or legendary weapons or other gear for a monk that they could spare. Been playing as much as possible, with people online and on my own on insane, but between work and the spotty matchup mode, and horrendously bad luck, I haven't been able to get any of this gear. Help would be much appreciated. Player name is araziza, thanks in advance!
@ araziza what fun is it in playing the game, if all the items that dropped out were godly / epic / legendary straightaway? I'd be more damned if it happens, it's named as such, for a reason. I don't even have one after playing for quite a while as well! Don't worry, this game isn't gonna end just because you don't have a triple-kill weapon. Work for it, it's far more worth it if you earn it yourself! [or you could just join random insane games and loot from their drops if you'd like]
Thanks for your input. That would be my general approach, and has been with most games. I have put in most of my recent free time into this game, and have not found any of these items. Between work and my family, I dont have hours and hours to play, however much I may want to. There is an update coming which will make finding these items, and the game in general even more difficult, and I would like to have a competitive character for then so I can continue enjoying the game as much as I have so far. Thank you for the advice, but I would still appreciate the help from any generous players.
@ araziza I understand where you're coming from. I'm in the same situation as you buddy, all those long nights with pals in Diablo 2: LoD doing Baal runs just to get a godly equip to stay competitive and actually be of use in future runs are a distant past. Well, I hope you'll get your equip that you want asap. All the best.
Aight you guys...I'm awake and ready for a game! Who's up for a game? Oh and thanks to JMarcel for getting it right. I saw that episode rerun last night and couldn't stop laughing.
i'm in a game, but if there's one from you guys, go ahead, invite. I'm not doing anything. Teammates significantly lower level.
