So i finally know the feeling of being paired up with someone who is leveled higher than me. I'm currently level 42 and c4ptain is level 48. i still ****ing rocked his socks off every single game. so to all you people out there complaining that people leveled higher than you are unbeatable, it's really not true and it's about skill. now i'm not saying that if you get matched with someone 10 levels higher than you, you're not at a disadvantage, i'm just saying that skill does play a huge factor in this game.

    just my 2 cents.

You can get credits for private matches with friends right? Whats stopping me from using my GF's iphone and having a second plus+ account, and just pwning that bogus for some free credits? I guess because killing one person 10x and getting all those credits may not be more than playing a match with 3 others and possibly getting more credits???

Anyone else having trouble with Item purchases? I just bought the Metallic Blue skin (or whatever its name was) but my finger kinda "slipped" so I didn't equip it afterwards when the game asked me about it, but just closed the window. Now I can't find it in my inventory but the item has also gone missing from the shop :S

Edit: and yes I believe that skill still counts a great deal in this game. I whooped someone yesterday who was lvl 11 when I was still only 6 (9 now).

Edit 2: oh snap I need to actually purchase another set of armor before I can apply a skin to it...

I completely agree. I was doing fine for a long time being much lower level since I was still able to play better than my opponents. But the way that skill works, the better I do, the more skill I get, and, therefore, I am forced to continue to play people who are more levels above me. Now I AM to the point that I am always playing against people easily 10 or more levels ahead of me. I can't compete.

Had I paid to be able to continue upgrading, I would be higher leveled AND have a high skill, and it wouldn't be an issue. Since I didn't pay, I am now being stacked unfairly.

Just aggitating. My 2 cents also. I realize the game JUST came out and these sort of things will be worked out in time. For now it is just a waste of what little energy I do get.

Credits you exchange from power cells do not count toward your level. You still have to play the game. Basically, you are level gated on new equipment unless you earn it through gameplay.

I'd just like to point out that powercells don't have to be used and aren't automatically converted to fill your energy bar. Because of that, a person with power cells could play casually every day with recharged energy and uncharged games, and only use power cells to supplement that if he needed/wanted to level up or get a few extra credits for that day.

The math above assumes someone plays through the game for 12 hours straight earning credits! We at ngmoco would like to encourage others to play outside, have coffee with a friend, and try out our other fantastic games. :D

I'm not sure, I got fully upgraded armor and weapon (max I can at my level) and I always feel I'm taking a lot of hits and surviving, yet killing everyone with 1-2 hits with the plasma cannon.

  7. Yes, you can, and that system works, but the credit output is less.

@allen: I'm a level 42 and the only games i can get is with c4ptain who is level 47. I can't get a game with ANYONE if he's not online. Do i just have to wait for others to level up or should i be able to get games with level 35ish people as well?

Terrorist, our matching algorithm gradually widens the skill level range at intervals until it finds 4 players.

Impressively, you might be SO HIGH above everyone else that this is taking too long and we're dumping back to the screen.

I'll bring this to the dev's attention and we'll see what we can do.

Ah! Long time ago since my last post on these forums! But this game deserves it!

First off, to the current discussion in the thread:
Eliminate er a highly skill based game. Sure, I was just matched with people in level 2-3 and I was level 8 and I whooped their ass, but that could just as well be because I have now played about a total of 1½ hour, while they might just be 20 minutes into the game.
Higher level is an advantage, but until theres 10 levels of difference between you, I believe its completely reasonable, especially if its difference like between 22 and 28.

The thing that interests me the most in this game is the payment system! I know I currently payed 6 DDK (1.2$) for a pack of energy cells. I did it mostly to show the devs my support and just trying to do my first in-app purchase :b

Have you guys bought any power cells yet? How many? Thinking of doing it (again)? How do you feel about this system.
Please, don't complain about the prices, I know (me included) feel them to be a bit weird.

Whilst skill does play a major role, there is a cut-off point where level and more importantly the upgrades associated with that level are simply too much to deal with. When your opponent can kill you with 1-2 shots vs 8 or more shots of yours, it becomes near impossible to win.

I think the matchmaker should only pair you with opponents that are within 5 or 6 levels. That way you'd never be way too far out of your depth and might actually have a chance of winning!

I think within 10 levels are more reasonable.

Sure, I play FPS on PC and consoles too, but I'm not THAT good, and I can (not easily) beat people around 10 levels above me.

But yes! If I waited 4 hours (or PAYED!!!) for recharge, I would be pissed to be match with people like 15 levels away from me.

side note: uuuh :) 13 minutes until free recharge!!

Huh, so you can trade the powercells into credits to buy stuff or does it raise your level? :/
