Weapons and upgrades only cost credits which you earn for playing. So no real money required. But if you mean any that don't cost credits then no,

Your energy should really be saved if your wifi connection gets fouled up in the middle of a match. Thats getting really frickin annoying...I've burnt so much potential credit in this way...
