My suggestion on the berserker shield: Only allow it to spawn once or twice in a session. That way people won't be tempted to shield camp or just have a strategy of solely bashing people. If you play the Tank map, it's all about the shield. Everything revolves around it. It's very annoying when you constantly get shield bashed.
Increase usage time and get rid of the beserker and rename it the Impregnable shield. Invincible but can't kill on contact, just a shield.
agreed, bashing ability makes it overpowered. Even impenetrable shield is unbalanced on its own though. Maybe just increase defenense to x2/x3 Or a set value so that even low levels will have a strong shield against higher levels.
In the tank map 1vs1, if your an idiot it does revolve around the berzerker shields. There are two of them so it's easy to counter so it's pointless. In 4 way play, it can be annoying. The only time the shields are really annoying is when the person camps *and* they are good at defending it because of skill or they are much better equipped. In other situations, it can be worked around. BTW, the most annoying player I've encountered is KaosKontrol. PC + grappling hook. All he does is charge you and camp the shield.
Yea i played some shield camper too for lift i think its was batoutaheaven or something. It was weird b/c he's a full 3000 skill points higher than me and a full (20 levels?) I'm a level 25 and he was shield camping. I thought it was pointless b/c his vap killed me with like 2 shots. Very annoying to have these people with higer skill+level shield camp you.
He only shield camps because if he doesn't, someone else would get the beserker shield and bash him. Unfortunately, lots of people have to resort to doing this, otherwise they'll constantly get bashed.
If the shield bash only did say 50 damage I would find it much less annoying and use it towards not taking damage then b-lining it directly to the closest player for a cheap kill. When ngmoco dropped the time for the shield that was good, but the power of the bash is too much. Not played for a while so no idea if they did that or not, probably not.
it was a 1-1 (at first for a lil over half the fight) anyways It's all good. I know he's trying to get his skill high. But it just sucked meeting him when i was trying to get some creds to level up (is he level 43? maybe 37, something noticeably higher than me for sure)
ok saw screenshot from friday. He was Level 40, skill 8263. I think he's higher now though. would post up screenshot but...i'm at work cant upload
I think yesterday he was level 44 or so. He did say that he accidentally bought the 12 dollar cell pack, so I guess he'll be leveling up quickly this week.
