Seeing as how only u to seem to know, WTF is ping and wat does it affect? My average ping is 93 out of 10 tests. Let me know.

A ping is basically a request to see if a host is there and resonds with a pong. It measures the time it takes to for servers to respond to your request. The lower the better. It's measured in milliseconds. Your ping is ok. You need to know the ping to the eliminate servers you are on. So even the average ping coming from a speedtest app won't tell you that since it tests the ping with it's own servers. I hope ngmoco will show the current ping next to the total players and games running stat in elimnate. I've asked Chris to include that feature in early December already and it could show up in 1.2.

So of course if u were at 1 ping on say the eliminate servers u would have virtually flawless gameplay? Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. If you have Fastpath configured with your ISP, your ping can go as low as 5ms that's it. But anything below 20 ms is usually fine. 10 ms is perfect. You can call your ISP and ask if you can try out Fastpath (lower your ping). In Germany that costs like 2 Euro and if you are lucky webpages appear instantly and gameplay is virtually flawless and depends only on the load of the servers. Of course if you are VERY far away from the servers you have lots of other servers in between you and game hosts. So it only makes sense IMHO if you have a very short route to the server with as few middlemen servers in between.

Say you have a Ping of 100ms to the Eliminate servers. In 1 sec. you can expect to get only 10 answer from the game server. That's ok because it updates the positions of you and the other players ten times per second. if you have a Ping of 200-300... you get some lag since in 1 sec. you will get only 3 different pictures so to speak. And if you are all focused on aiming and hitting your opponent 1 sec. can become very long and 3 different pictures just not enough.

I know the Eliminates European server IPs and can test my connection there. (I can't give them away though, since ngmoco would not like me to do that.) It's all fine that's the reason I usually don't lag in games with other European players since we are all connected to the same server. But in games with Americans your server seems to be the match maker so you have a lower ping and I get a ping of probably 500ms or so.

 

For the awards proficient and the other armor award, does everything need to be maxed, or only one stat I.e Vap full damage/ Infiltrator full speed. Thanks.

This game is real fun for me again. Having a noob acount a skil 4700 and lvl 15 is just plain harrious. Also I love the mag rail protype I have in my main account. I just got three kills in a row with one clip and no damage applifer. I am allmost sure the it takes three bulets to the head kill so with 40 rounds per clip that equals lots of dead bodies.

 

has anybody heard anything about when the 1.2 update will be out and what might be in the update?

 

1.2 will include the Option to turn off scrolling and show the ping times. Also a new map.

 

Would someone pls post how to create more than one account

I'd like to keep my current 50+ account, but start a new one and have the ability to just launch or login/logout between the two.

I notice multiple people mentioning it. Can someone take the time just to put the basic steps down? (Is is as simple as just creating another plus account?)

Not critical, but I've seen recent responses about having it loaded twice on the same iphone/ipodtouch. Extra thanks for posting some basic instructs on how.
