So far I'm finding the difficulty very satisfying, please allow us to continue with the same amount of drops and enemy attacks.

You just need to have some strategy when allocating your skill points; for example I put everything to speed and health at first, now I'm going more towards strength and firepower. Katana + shotgun is my main loadout, both mostly upgraded. Beans are helpful.

Not every game is going to be a walk in the park ;)

This is tough no doubt. But Ive had some really tense victories due to how tough it gets. Running out of ammo, sliver of health left and nailing the last vamp is pretty satisfying:)

I'm enjoying the difficulty. I look at it like Castle Crashers on Insane Mode, it's going to be very hard to progress past the first few stages with a level 12 character. With a level 99 character those same levels are boring.

Once you level up a little, you can grind the third group of levels pretty easily without switching modes. I would recommend only investing money in a weapon you like and can use later in the game. (I wouldn't upgrade the bat, pistol, etc.) Once I got some firepower the game really opened up. :D

Is it too early for game of the year talk? ;)

Haha, I love this game, defiantly could be GOTY stuffs. I am really dislikeing the seconded part of level 2, just keep dying or running out of time before I make it even 100 meters. Any advice on weaponry ideas/strategy would be awesome!

I would recommend that, as one of the tips that appear when the game is loading, that at least one melee weapon should be equipped, or that you will be taking a chance of your weapons running out. Not to mention that fact that the Katana is absolutely awesome. I do feel that Fangz has Zombieville 2 beat in terms of how effective and fun the melee weapons are. Minigore 2 has some fun melee action as well.

Alex, have you ever considered making it so the melee works even when you are in the spin jump?

I haven't finished the game yet. But, it seems like the machine gun is still useful in the middle of the campaign. If you're just getting started, I would recommend grinding the first level in survival with the shotgun.

It seems like you should upgrade the guns path first. (I went for the lightsaber first, just couldn't stop my inner nerd from doing it. :D )

The "bowl of beans" thing is kind of like health potions, and they can really save you (when you have the time to eat them).

It takes a while to get the feel for when to jump. A sketchy jump is almost never a good decision. (Only jump if you have a place to land).

On the timed challenges, you pretty much have to learn the path, then blast everything that's in your way . . . . Just remember the shotgun does more damage up close, so run up and blast those fools. :D

Also, I think your speed should vary depending on what weapon you're carrying and maybe even the total number. You should totally run faster carrying a katana vs a minigun (though I haven't bought the minigun yet, so this might be the case).

Yeah, this is some of the best melee combat I've ever played.

    Another idea...

Along with having the shop available through the menu and without having to quit the game, it would be cool if you could have survival mode accessible through the menu too. The game tells you to use survival mode to stack up if you are having problems in campaign mode, so it would make sense that you can switch right to it through the menu. There needs to be more fluidity between campaign, survival and the shop, all accessible through the pause menu and not having to quit. I don't like having to go back to the title screen for these things, as it is an unnecessary middle step. Right now, if I want to go from campaign to survival, I have to pause, hit quit, go to main menu, hit play then click on survival. Instead, it could be pause, hit survival and then you're there. Of course, like I've said previously, the same goes for the shop/warehouse. Right now, if you're in campaign, you have to pause, quit, hit play, hit campaign and then you're at the shop, whereas if it were in the menu, it would only be pause then shop.

    Another another idea...

Maybe the stats should not be permanent upgrades, meaning that, if you go and upgrade your speed or strength or whatever, you can't subtract from it and move it to another attribute. If you are having trouble on a level and want to add more speed, for example, but are out of upgrade points, you would be able to subtract one from strength and add it to speed.

    And a bug...

Sometimes drops end up inside objects and cannot be retrieved, like a cupcake will land inside a bus and stay there until it expires.

I want to play this game, but the above post is turning me away. I'm not someone who avoids difficulty, I start most games on Hard because I like a challenge, but when it's difficult to the point of frustration as described above, combined with the wait times... that's not something I want to deal with.

    Alexandre,

This seems like a good answer on where to buy an icade core joystick in Europe. Buy the core model though, it is the best. Please read the two links in my title, the hdmi and icade threads for more info. Also read the last couple of pages of the Plasma sky implemention that the developer and I did that will release maybe tomorrow.

    http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2786388&postcount=1667

Pm me later when you get it, and we can beta test using testflight. Would be curious to see what innovative things we could add to this game using icade. In plasma sky, we got 5 joystick speed settings, so it is hella cool, cause each speed plays like a different game.

    Good luck.

Attached is a picture of the icade core joystick with ipad, playing the New Plasma Sky update with icade support - 5 different joystick speed settings, one of a kind on ios, maybe even in console games.

I wouldn't judge by that post. This guy has some unrealistic opinions. The level he is talking about I beat first try, I'm not some elite gamer. He says he runs out of ammo wich i almost never do, plus u have melee weapons in case u run out. He talks about having to quit to go to the shop, but its standard between level shopping found in most games. You can upgrade between levels, and if u have to quit in the middle of a level we are talking maybe 3 min of lost time by having to start the level over. He is saying that because u can't pause the game and access the upgrade menu right away in mid level that its a broken system and that 3 extra taps is too many. U keep your gained xp so I never once felt like restarting a level was a negative thing. But those are his opinions and he is entitled to them, he also still says how much he likes the game despite his concerns.

Bottom line on difficulty. There are a few tough levels, yes you will need to grind a bit for xp and gold like in basically every game. But beating those levels comes with a sense of accomplishment. No iap so ur not feeling trapped into spending to upgrade.

You're twisting my words. I am saying this is a good game in need of tweaks that could improve it. Nothing about my critiques are unrealistic at all. In fact, I think they will improve the game, which the developer, for the most part, tends to agree with. There are no 'wait times' in the game, except for a couple stages where, if you die and restart, you have to wait around for 20 seconds for the enemies to re-spawn. I personally find this to be excessive, but that is my opinion. So, yes, I have my concerns while also liking the game. Great graphics and art, lots of personality, fun genre, coupled with some aspects of the gameplay that could use improving. What is so confusing about that?

Hey all. Need some help on the Vamp St boss. I can't seem to even get his health bar down. Any tips on beating this banker blood sucker? Maybe I'm missing something.

Hmmm, I haven't even looked at scores/leaderboards so far. I've been concentrating on the gameplay and posting here, playing slowly. I am currently on Vamp St. with campaign mode, with the lawyers, and dabbled a little bit with survival.

Think I prefer survival ATM, but it seems slower to earn cash than campaign. Dunno whether it would change the game too much, but I kinda like the idea of two fire buttons that correspond to firing left and firing right, at least then I could strafe the enemies and it'd certainly help me with melee weapons...

Still stuck on lvl 2 :p lol

Hi dev, I just save 5000 buying the plasma gun and to my horror, the gun is not shooting out anything at all. Please fix this bug so that my money won't go down to drain , sigh!

Not a bug. You have to hold down the fire button for a couple seconds then release
