That may be the case, but the mind that thought about the weapon auto switch is called Magda, and is a pretty dedicated beta tester Thanks! I'm half way through the first content update. Hopefully next week I'll have some news.
What about Fangz in Windows, Mac and Linux? If you're interested let Steam know! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=142867473
Thread Bump! Alex, I just realized this after playing recently... On the Subway, where it says 'Big Vamp Theory' why doesn't it say 'Big Fang Theory?' Big Bang? Big Fang? Game title is Fangz. Also rhymes nicely. That could be added to the update list. And how is the update coming along anyway?
Hi Alexandre, I don't know if anyone answered you about the iCade but you can buy it in Lisboa at Colombo shopping center or online at http://www.fnac.pt/Ion-iCade-para-iPad-Acessorio-Informatica-e-Tel-Acessorios-Tablet/a528482?PID=10 Bought your game today, great experience so far. Glad to see a a portuguese developer and hopefully you'll get some attencion here in Portugal - it's the first time I see an actually GOOD portuguese game. (well, also spanish as you had a co developer). I read some of your posts and by your age and for what you said, you were probably like me, having the Zx spectrum and the amiga afterwards... I'm 36 and I do remeber those brutally challenging games, with pixel perfect jumps needed not to loose a life our go back to the beggining of a level. I find the difficulty refreshing because some iOS games are just too easy-boring. Anyway, long post, just to congratulate you. Parabéns!
Obrigado! Thanks for the iCade link. I couldn't find one in Portugal at a price that wasn't a total ripoff, so I had a friend of mine send me an iCade Core from London. The price, with shipping charges included, is about half of what it is in Portugal. Now it just has to arrive (it's been in the post for 4 days now...). My first computer was a ZX-81 (ZX Spectrum predecessor), with a whopping 1kb of RAM When I was 8 my father bought the 16Kb RAM extension, and I spent a very happy summer learning Basic Regarding the game's difficulty, the point was really to make it stand out amongst lots of easy games, but I think I overdid it. The next update will lower the default difficulty (it'll introduce difficulty levels), add some perks to strengthen the character, modify the jump mechanic so that no energy is taken (a stamina bar is going to be introduced) and it'll remove the timers from all difficulty levels (this was the most requested item).
Heh, the ZX Spectrum was my first computer. Loved it. But the computer that I really spent more time was my second one, the MSX - it was big in Japan and here in Brazil
I submitted the first update to Apple two days ago. It should be live in a couple more days. It's already live for Android with good input from all users. This update does the following: - Removes all timers - Adds difficulty levels (default difficulty level is normal, which doesn't have lunging vampires) - Adds new perks to spend XP on (bunny feet, fat wings and a coin multiplier). The coin multiplier is already active (no Konami code needed) because if I hid it, I'm pretty sure I'd get 1 star reviews because of it. - Adds new jump mechanic - Tweaks gameplay (taking out the timer made some levels too easy) The next update will add some more perks, but more importantly it'll add iCade support. Fangz will continue to be improved and new updates should come out every 4 to 6 weeks. Cheers, Alex
Sounds good Alex. Looking forward to it. I can't wait until the following update to see the look of the vampire that replaces the Schwartzencorpse
Sounds great!!!!! I can't wait to try out the new perks. Maybe Touch Arcade will review the updated version? (We can hope )
Pity you were forced to remove all timers just because a vocal minority complained about it. Sorta compromises the difficulty of Fangz.
It wasn't just a vocal minority, I got lots of emails because of it, and lots more not complaining about the timers directly, but saying they were stuck in level x. But yes, it does compromise on the difficulty of Fangz, at least for another not so vocal minority Like I previously said, I'll most likely add a god mode, with timers and even tighter mechanics.
Looking forward to the icade support! Good news on the icade front! Impossible road, bellyfish, and crumble zone too will be getting icade support, so the future is bright!
Just for Fangz HD. Fangz is still "Waiting for review", even though it was submitted at exactly the same time. It probably ended up in another reviewer's queue.
It sucks when developers have to give up their original vision to satisfy the masses, but having played the updated version of Fangz, Alex; I'm glad you did. The game is just so much more fun this way. I hope this update does wonders for Fangz.
I also agree here and also after playing the new update I had a lot more fun. I was stuck on the first subway level for a really long time because the timer would run out before I got anywhere near the end (even with a maxed speed upgrade). I can't wait for more updates. My recent gripe, maybe others have mentioned this, are the variety of vampire enemies. I'm really sick of seeing the black hip hop vampires everywhere. The first level had the old guy in pajamas and a thin woman. Then came the city, at first I thought it was hilarious, but when I finally reached the junkyard I was hoping for something new. Especially after running through half of the game killing mostly those hip hop vamps. I was so happy to see the junkyard vamp, but then my heart sank as the hip hop vamps came out again. I don't mind fighting the first level vampires again. Just anything besides those hip hop vamps Anyway my only gripe haha. The game feels so awesome now. It reminds me of back in the day playing on my sega genesis or snes as a little boy.
