I don`t care if this will get a delay again or if it will be a 20 $ App. The iPhone Version and the iPad Version are a Must Have and i`ll train by thumbs for the Release Day to be the first who literally smash the Buy Button when i see it in the NZ Store.

I'd like to agree with you, but you have to consider that this is not the PSN version they've just ported.

They had re-worked the graphics and also a lot of "fun" putting autosave features (especially for the iPhones) in, which means that they also re-worked some parts of the engine. Development for the iOS versions took nearly 9 months, so a higher price point might be possible.

On the other hand, maybe you're right... we will see. ;)

Squenix will tell us soon enough how much they will charge, you'll know at least a few seconds before hitting the "Buy"-button.

And to be honest... it doesn't matter. Most of us don't care if there's a $9.99 or $14.99 or even $17.99. We WILL hit the buy-button to get our greedy little fingers on that fantastic game. :D

*drools* must have.... must.... have... must...

Well, we all thought it would be out by the end of the July (date 20...something) based on the old Facebook photo, and now we've concluded that if they've only just submitted the app, it supposedly won't make it out in time for that date. So...delay.

Of course, it's still possible, but I'm not going to jump with joy at a submission announcement being posted 3 days before I hoped the game would release.

Ah, well nothing's set in stone at the moment so I guess anything's on the cards. Fingers crossed for a release sometime next week. If not, I'm not that bothered, it'll only be a few more days after that anyway.

With the Price expect it to be $15.99 as that's the price of number 3, Number 3 will drop to $8.99 like the other previous versions.

Also as much as you want to deny it, Apple does have a priority list. It's just that no one seems to know about it.

It seems pretty obvious that Apple is going to have some process for handling reviews of major titles from major publishers differently from the tens of thousands of random submissions from random small publishers.

That doesn't necessarily mean they will even go faster, though. Apple might even give them more scrutiny because they are going to be more widely deployed.

Apple is going to make the same amount of revenue if the game comes out this week or next week, that's not a factor for them.

No question that the additional production time should figure in the final price, but my guess is based on the fact that:

    1) SE has never priced any of their iOS ports higher than their handheld counterpart

    2) Until very recently FFT was selling on retail north of $20.00.

It would make sense for SE to lower the PSN price to match the App Store one -- that way it becomes a platform choice rather than a price choice for people. Then again, perhaps SE is trying something new here. After all, FFT is old hat for PSP gamers but brand new to iOS. And no, it doesn't really matter to me anyway.

As to the delay issue: why do people care? The main issue for me was not having an idea when to expect the game (heck, some jerk on this thread kept calling it vaporware). Now we know that it will hit in the next couple of weeks, and that all that counts in my book.

Cool to see it in review, but I honestly can't speculate on when it will be released. Either way I'm looking forward (to waiting more) for its release.

We've all waited this long, but knowing its in review definitely introduces more anxiety.

    About Time!

    :D

After all the waiting and speculation we are now closer to release than ever! This is definitely one title that I have been waiting for since last year. Admittedly I played the original back on the PlayStation when it was first released but never beat it. The game was so long that I moved on to other things. Not to mention that it was my first strategy rpg. Usually when I play a new game type it takes a while to warm up to it. In either case I cannot wait to play it and really sink some mobile gaming hours into it!

    :D

When I sent my game Bubbles Only in it took 8 days for it to appear in the App Store, but when I updated it it took 2 days, so there's a chance FFT also receives an early review..? I hope Apple prioritizes larger and more successful games over indie's (I kinda have a feeling they do) and if they do that means FFT will be out any time now as they clearly said they will release it once they get green light.

Two nice facts. I should have taken them into account.
Squenix is too unpredictable when it comes to iOS pricing. ;)

I don't mind the delay either. It's done when it's done.

That's quite normal. Updates often go through the reviewing process in less than half of the time.
And again: no. They will announce the release date once they got green light. Read again what Shiina wrote. ;)

@ triggywiggy: so, where's the proof for your "priority list"?
I'd really like to see that.

Apple once stated that every submitted app goes into a waiting line and then they are reviewed one after another.
But if you can prove me wrong, please do. I still think this priority list is based on speculations and rumors.

Do you actually think Apple would admit to prioritizing? They are running a business if they admitted it then it would annoy all the indie devs.

No i don't have proof but i know that some games especially from big devs get put on the app store before overs. Why because it means money, the quicker they do it the faster the money arrives in the bank. And as we all know they do they accounting at the end of the month. Which means if they release it next month they have to wait till the end of August to get their $$$. Now if you don't believe then that's up to you.

Plus for all we know it could have been submitted 2 days ago. They only said that it had been submitted. Not when.....

If it doesn't come out thursday and it's not priced at 15.99 and the other titles don't go on sale for 8.99, we can blame triggywiggy.

Hey i am basically putting clues together. If it's incorrect then i was wrong. I am merely stating that there is a chance it will come out this week. Not that is WILL.....

^ Doubtful. Highly Doubtful. I have absolute proof that this is coming on August 4th. The price is going to be set at $11.99 for iPhone and iPod, and $14.99 for iPad.

    Heres the article:
