Thanks! We're excited about Mega Run. Here are a few things I can confirm about the game so far:

    • Retina graphics
    • Universal app that uses the full size of the iPad screen
    • Jump, double jump and dash moves
    • Dynamically generated levels, so it's different every time you play
    • More character animation for lots of personality
    • Deep and rich level designs with lots of layers
    • Great new powerups, traps and special items
    • Awesome new particle effects
We'll reveal more as we progress, and hopefully post some video of gameplay once we have added more features.

one suggestion i would give is to not make it so obvious that you guys are targeting little kids. no offense but the recent updates have kind of been borderline too childish. one of the descriptions of a character refers to it as "tantalizingly tasty". idk just try to not make it seems like i'm playing a kids game at times

I hope it's more easier than Mega Jump, I suck at it. XP
Anyway, nothing catch my eyes like polished graphics, nice job there!

I can see MegaJump has a group of fans here. But do u really think it is enjoyable? Mega looks dull, no more funny facial expressions....And he only jumps to get golden coins which we can see in a lot of PC games,so to me it is not very novel and appealling....And in the first versionMega is a 3D character, rite? While the back graphic is planer which makes me feel uncomfortable...

Hmm, if the dev still checks this thread. I have a couple of Mega Jump questions (really like the game btw)

Are you going to implement a menu button, like after I finish the round I have the choice to Play Again, Pick a stage, Free MP :| and Store (+ the GameCenter, Options and Open Feint stuff) but there isn't any choice to go back to the main menu. (Not really important but it's just one of those things that bugs me every time I play :S)

I've downloaded a few of the free apps and opened them to gain MP, however sometimes I'm not creditted with the MP at all and sometimes I receive half the amount it says I should. Is there any reason for this?

Does there really need to be the "Free MP" button? I don't mind the idea of IAP's but it's already in the Store menu in the Mega Point section so does there need to be another button on the main menu (and game over) screen as well?

Might just be me but I find the bar at the bottom of the main screen ugly and obtrusive.
Maybe you could put the actual Facebook, Twitter and Youtube logos down the bottom of the screen with a similar look as your Open Feint and Game Center ones. Maybe even add them down there with them. Or you could place them in something similar to the cog which contains OpenFeint, Game Center and the other Option things - maybe putting GC and OF buttons with it and keeping the Cog for Options such as Music, Sound and the connection thing.
The "Help" button could go where the "Free MP" button is and the "Mega Code" button could be removed, as like the "Free MP" button it's also in the store under the Mega Points section. This would lead to the menu screen possibly looking a bit nicer and giving it more space / making it bigger.

Have you considered possibly putting in a "Endless Mode"?
Like just coins - no power ups or obstacles, just how far you can go until you miss a coin.

Yeah, they aren't too big of a deal and I love the game, but these may make the experience of playing a bit more enjoyable and tidy it up a bit. :)
Can't wait for the next game :)

Mega Jump did kind of annoy me with the coin thing, it's not like Pocket Frogs where just a bit of patience negated the need to spend money... you need INCREDIBLE patience. It takes forever.

Despite that, it remains my favourite jumping game on iOS (which basically means on any platform) and totally destroys that god-awful Doodle Jump. So I'm looking forward to this one destroying a few running games too :)

We try and appeal to everyone with Mega Jump, and have some fun with the descriptions of the characters - they are cartoon characters after all. I also wonder how many kids actually know the word "tantalizing" ;) If we can appeal to kids and adults in a similar way to Pixar movies, then I think we're on the right track. We definitely don't want to dumb things down.

Sorry you didn't enjoy the game. A lot of people have said that they do enjoy the characters, their expressions and the sounds they make.

We have tried to make the characters in Mega Jump have personality and react to the things around them, and we'll be enhancing this in Mega Run, so that the characters have a lot more animation and expression.

Yes, the characters are rendered in 3D, but they are 2D sprites, not 3D models, and we avoided making them look too realistic so they blend with the 2D backgrounds.

Mega Run will also have many layers of parallax to give the background a lot of depth.

With only a limited amount of space on the screen, we chose to put everything you need on the Game Over menu, so there isn't actually a reason to go back to the main menu. We're going to be updating the UI in the next few updates, so you can expect some changes in the layout though.

That's strange. If you experience this again, I would recommend contacting TapJoy, who runs the offerwall, since we aren't able to track that ourselves.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know where the Free MP section is in the store - it's a feature that people like, and we want to make sure that people have easy access to it without having to go into the Store, then to the Free MP page.

The placement of each button has gone through a lot of decision making, and you can see how complicated this can be. What we try and do is put the important things (like Help and social links) where people will easily see them, rather than hiding them in the options menu. We do make changes to the UI from time to time to make it more visually appealing (Update 12 was a big overhaul), and we'll continue to tweak things to make the game look better, but at the end of the day, if something is important, we make sure it's somewhere people can easily find it.

    That's an interesting idea!

That's where the Magnet powerup comes in! It shouldn't take too long to save up enough MP to upgrade your Magnet powerup, and once you get a more powerful version, you can haul in a lot more coins.

Thanks! We hope Mega Run will be more than just a running game, and hopefully it'll be as fun as Mega Jump! We'd love to hear what you think we should put in to Mega Run that you think would make it awesome.

Will there be new characters in "mega run" that were not featured in MJ?

Perhaps an underwater mode is a start were the characters can only stay underwater for a certain amount of time as they collect as many coins as they can before time runs out.

It's likely that we'll have at least one new character in Mega Run, alongside some of the most popular characters from Mega Jump. Over time, you'll likely see the same characters in both.

    Nice! That's a cool idea.

The first version of Mega Run will have a few characters - probably not as many as Mega Jump has right now, but we'll add more in updates.

What kind of characters would you want to see in Mega Run?

I agree with someone above who mentioned a robotized character.

Also some type of insect character would be different.

Hope this helps and gives you guys some ideas for future characters.

Wow, those are really some original characters. You should also consider adding a gorilla that throws barrels or a yellow circle with a mouth that open and closes and eats power pellets.

Now we're talking! Or how about a happy pink blob that can change into other things?
