No shit! I know it's from Gameloft...I was attempting to be sarcastic which is why I added the there genius! You lose credibility when you say that the controls in BIA are good because the controls are the weakest part of that game! However, the controls in TS are much better and I do agree that the graphics in TS are nice. Did you even read my post because I stated that I own most of Gameloft's games. But thanks for pointing out the 1st person view in cover. It blows my mind that so many people cannot be objective when it comes to Gameloft!
It's "there" genius. I question the credibility of someone who says that they own most of Gameloft's games, yet bashes them. I don't think Gameloft is the holy grail of designers, they've made some good games, they've made some crap games. You just posted to the Madden thread saying it's going to be better than NFL 2010, yet you haven't played Madden. Sounds to me like YOU'RE the one who's not objective when it comes to Gameloft.
Seriously?? I am not bashing Gameloft...it's called OBJECTIVITY!! I like Gameloft and I am glad they make games but that doesn't mean that their games are not usually flawed in my opinion!! GEEZ! As far as Madden, I was simply SPECULATING that it will be better than NFL2010 because in my opinion I think NFL2010 sucks! I am sorry that so many of you get your feelings hurt when someone gives a negative opinion about some games, especially Gameloft! And thanks for correcting my grammar, I am not a genius, just a guy with a Master's Degree and his own company ...that's all.
You were speculating by saying you were "VERY confident" that Madden would be better. If you ask anyone reading these posts, it would be very clear to most that you have something against Gameloft (yet own most of their games). That's fine, just don't accuse others for your own behavior. You're welcome for the grammar lesson...I also have a Master's, yet I seem to understand how little that means unlike you, and the guy selling hot dogs outside of the bars also owns his own company. Congratulations on all of your success...and thanks for your CV on this forum, we really give a rat's ass.
Guys, I am just being a smartass! I agree with most of what you have said. Der-Klein: I was totally kidding when I said you lost credibility from saying that the controls in BIA were good. I loved that game but the controls were frustrating to me which is why I mentioned how much better I like the controls in TS. sizzlakalonji: I totally agree with you in that Gameloft makes some great games as well as some crappy ones. I guess you could say I have a "love/hate" relationship with Gameloft. I really do enjoy most of the Gameloft titles I own. BTW, I will be the first to come here and eat crow if Madden sucks! Being the smartass I am, I thought your reply about the hot dog stand was great!! Touche! Again, I think that Sandstorm looks awesome and the controls look great!! I can't wait until they add multiplayer so I can dominate you bitches!!
Thanks for the clarification, Twentyone...I obviously have a smartass streak in me as well, and I can't always tell when other posters are using sarcasm. I used to give a lot more benefit of the doubt until I read some posts that were mind-bogglingly stupid. I agree with BiA controls, they were awkward, although I eventually came to like the game.
DING DING!!! Context for the win! This is the obvious problem with everybody communicating via text/email these days: CONTEXT! Even though we have gayass emoticons It can be very frustrating as we all know!! Back on topic: From the gameplay videos of both Sandstorm and KillTest/FPS the controls look identical for both. What do you guys think?
Totalsam says: "The controls actually look quite do-able, though I'd appreciate a non-contextual fire button. In times of frustration sometimes I just want to shoot at a wall or a fellow squad member. Does that make me a bad person?"
Yeah, I agree with the non-contextual fire button. That seems a bit odd. I wonder if they will have it in the multiplayer (when they add it). Although it is still being worked on, so it may be changed.
Fire Button... I don't think it is contextual. The reason the buttons are popping up at different times is because it is a tutorial. The buttons first appear as you are taught how to use them. After they appear, they stay and can be used at will. I'm guessing that outside of the tutorial they are always there while you play the campaign. The same should be for the multiplayer. The only buttons that are contextual are the ones for jumping down or over short obstacles, opening doors, etc. Just like in console games like COD. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yeah, I think you are probably right there. Now I think of it, BIA and TS didn't have contextual fire buttons, so why should this? I think that guy in the video was getting muddled up with the 'action' button which pops up when you can do something. For example stamp on a terminators head in TS or climb onto a tank and throw a grenade in on BIA. That's another thing. Do you think the game will have vehicles? I mean, TS and BIA both had them, this game is using their same engine, so it is possible.
Vehicles... Vehicles are fine for me in campaign mode. It changes things up a bit, and adds another aspect to the game. In multiplayer though...I'm doubtful. I think they'll keep it simple; more like COD2 probably, but that's just fine with me. Although, if they do have vehicles and they put some into multiplayer, I hope it doesn't take away from it. Personally, I hope they keep things simple: 4-6 players, a few turrets here and there maybe, smoke and frags, basically COD2 style would be perfect for this platform.
Maybe like a boat or so for sea based maps in multiplayer and a jeep or so to go around the map faster and fire some machine guns while on the way
I doubt there will be any boats or sea maps. Maybe the odd jeep, but I wouldn't expect anything else. Although it would be cool to team up and have one person driving and one shooting when in a jeep/tank on the online multiplayer.
I kind wish we could use the volume button for firing and that leaves the entire lower right hand corner for aiming. Or move the fire button all the way to lower right hand corner leaving more view space.
