At least you've got a clear and straightforward answer instead of an "uhmmm... we'll see, maybe sometimes..." you hear so often these days.
You know what I've realised? A lot of people (here on TA at least) often share the sentiment of "make the game cost more, but don't add IAP". This is that game. And it's absolutely glorious. So you should be very ashamed if you're waiting for a price drop. Very ashamed.
+1 (Thus could apply to many other games in the AppStore). Waiting for a 'whopping' save of 1-2 dollars (or even the 'full' price) means no more quality games in the AppStore in the long run. And for 'quality games' I mean more elaborate/hardcore experiences. There is nothing wrong with free or low price casual games...but some genres requires more time/attention/resources to be made...and this is one of them. So if you are interested in this kind of experience...just buy it (and yes...I find the actual price ridiculously low, even for the crazy AppStore standards). I like to buy one game at the time, and complete it...I do not but 5-10 low priced games per week that I would never ever have the time to enjoy...and I can assure you I already got from the game the value spent and than some. For greater prices I saw many less entertains movies...have eaten many not so good sandwiches...have read shorter and not so compelling books. This game oozes quality in every department. I'm really curious about how many people worked on the project...the attention to detail is stunning (from graphics to sounds to story to music). BTW yesterday just for fun I tried air-playing on the TV. WOW! Not only it is playable (at least first levels) but it looks gorgeous and would be absolutely at home on XBLA or PSN and considered a great looking game...probably for at least double the price. Just my 2 cents...now back exploring
We were two persons working on the game. Click on "Credits" in main menue to see all of us Can you sent us a screenshot from this air-playing? Would be interesting to see on a big screen. Maybe something we should post on our website or fb page
Well I've only played through first missions, but it is looking good. Hopefully synth remembers his suggestion if I don't like this lol
If his "suggestion" is the same suggestion he suggested to me, that I had suggested to him in regard to Blocks Hurt! well then believe me... you're not getting that "suggestion". Why? 'Coz you're gonna love this.
What else does the game offer besides the exploration? Is there back tracking in the game later on or is it always point A to B? I'm thinking about getting this one but all the comparisons to Gyro Copter keep me from pushing "buy". GC was boring for me, I need more objectives in a game I guess and I'm concerned that there isn't enough variety in this for a guy like me.
Loving this game. Got through the first five missions. It's one of those games you can get lost in. Relaxing, yet still a challenge if you want to earn all the medals, artifacts, etc. Yes, this is exactly the kind of game I talk about when I say I'd rather pay more for a game than pay less and worry that I'm not going to have a "full" game loaded with IAPs and such.
Well... there's quite a few environmental puzzles, as well as activating reactors to unlock doors, collecting resources, racing the clock to the end of the stage (for a couple of the levels), avoiding hazardous plantlife, as well as machinery... it's like an action/adventure game with an amazing story that involves a lot of exploration (but a lot of the exploration is really there only if you want to find all of the hidden objects... and is not required to progress throughout the game.)
Great post, totally agree. Yep its dearer then other games but its well worth it, theres no IAP, indie devs like this should be encouraged. Bought this game an hour ago and loving it.
Since when does someone call 5$ too much? That's just insane... It's the quality of the game that matters. Anyway bought the game and waiting for the ipad update
Since forever... ^^ Nice little example... Hate hearing it, especially with all the rage against freemium and IAP... but during this last week, there's been quite a few posts with people asking developers for price drops, sales, freebies... it's ridiculous. Makes me shake my head and roll my eyes every time I read a post like that.
I'm all for that approach, but in this case I would really like to try before buying. So would like to see a Lite version to test out.
I do agree a lite version would be in the best interest of the developers. Just including the tutorial missions along with one or two of the regular missions... I dunno.
Well...I can give my experience: I deleted GC half an hour after having downloaded...this game on the contrary... You have usually more than one objective before leaving the level...and you actually do some backtracking (inside the mission) in later missions. Be prepared to do A LOT OF BACKTRAKING if you are searching for hidden relics and artifacts. Objectives can go from gathering resources to opening doors to bypass security systems to turn on devices... All wrapped up in a killer audio-visual presentation and an excellent story to follow.
Unfortunately, since forever. And it's getting worse. I can understand people not convinced by the genre or opinions, henceforth waiting for a review or a lite version but asking for a price drop or a sale is pure madness...not to mention the game just went online...
Just got this and am through my 3rd tutorial level, and I already feel like my purchase has been validated. This is one smooth-looking product. Well, back to playing.
