If you figure it out let me know. I checked the official site and couldn't find the file. Might have to check around some more.
I've been tooling around with this for the last couple of days and have about 53 games working so far. The odd thing is I've been told the ROMS have to be 139u1 but many that I've used are v0.145u7 (according to their documentation) - Here's the highlights of what I've got working: Mario Bros (the arcade game with the pipes) Vs Castlevania Vs Dr Mario Vs Super Mario Bros 1 Vs Duck Hunt (works great with analog control) Vs Excitebike Vs Freedom Force (can't get it to engage past shooting area for Player 1) Vs Hogans Alley (can't get it to engage past shooting area for Player 1) Spider-Man the Arcade Game Popeye (my fave) Ghouls & Ghosts Ghosts & Goblins Donkey Kong 1, 3 and Jr Bionic Commando Berzerk Asteroids Deluxe (not the original) Contra TMNT Track & Field All of these work flawlessly on my iPad 2. I tried some of them on iPod 4th gen and Super Mario Bros 1 was slow - tried 5th gen but unfortunately couldn't get the documents to open (didn't know at the time about having to play Gridlee first to open the Documents section). Will try on a iPhone 5 later to see. Would love to get the Playchoice Mario's to work, but no luck. I've researched every page of this forum for the answer, but can't seem to find it. Maybe I just need better ROMS.
Can anyone please inform me where I put nss.zip or what I do with it? (And I've googled and Youtubed to no avail). Thank you!
I don't think you've read this whole thread as you say, as the answer to your question is answered multiple times, in fact, only a few pages back it's answered for the twentieth time. At least! 1: You need the correct rom compatible with mame 0.139u1. 2: You need the Playchoice10 Bios, placed in the Rom library. 3: You need to map the "Enter" command to a button in the game. This is achieved by pressing the buttons "Coin" and "Start" simultaneously to get to the option screen.
I literally can't find any working 1.139u1 games. Can anyone upload a folder of working games or something? Or atleast direct me to a good site?
Thanks - I will go back. I realized that I haven't read everything as my topics page jumps from Page 37 - 77. I just skipped 40 + pages. Ooops. Sorry guys but thanks for pointing that out and giving me some quick info.
Thanks for the heads up on analog. I tried last night with digital and was pretty saddened by the experience. Just gave it a go with analog and its actually very good now.
Can you please give some hints? I'm trying lots of things but no one works yet. I think will be ok to share that file, is not a game.
You know, I fell into the same trap I did the last time I got into mame. Started downloading everything I can remember playing as a kid, verified it worked, then moved on to the next. It's very easy to get addicted to collecting games. The problem is, I don't really want to play most of them. Am I going to sit there at any given moment and play tmnt? It's awesome for a few minutes, then I don't really care. Pac man? Tournament edition is more fun. Gauntlet? I'd rather play Orc, or many other crawlers. Once that nostalgia wears off, and its quick, they're just filling up space in a list. For some reason, the neo geo games seem more sticky. I want to play them. They're still really fun games with a lot of polish. So, this has turned into more of a real pocket neo geo for me, streamlined, and fun. The reason for this post is really to get people to think about what they really want to play, before scouring around just for the collection. Just something to think about.
You must be installing a lot of conflicting items since the only time I ever dealt with safe mode is when my intellixscreen was not yet updated and incompatible.
