I have seen a number of threads on TA forums now requesting information on the holy marketing grail, or best PR company, or benefits of a publisher etc etc I have promoted a number of iOS games now through PR, including some successful titles that have reached No1 in the App Store (I kid you not!) but it seems to me that the best way to get exposure for your game is to work with an ad network or Pay Per Install company. if you do then you have teh advantage of advertising to customers at the point of purchase, where they are just one click away from the App Store. Seems so simple doesn't it? My understanding is that there are a number of different ad/PPI networks to choose, from, iAds, Tap Joy, Ad Mob, Super Rewards, Grey Stripe, Open Feint etc, some have good networks and lots of players, others show good conversion rates, some are more expensive than others. I have a lot of questions but here are the immediate queries that spring to mind: Which ad networks should you work with and why? Does it differ for apps in differing genres? Is there a benefit to working with several networks in combination with each other ? What level of budget do you need to allocate for advertising? When should you expect to see an ROI from your investment? In-app advertising vs pay per install? What kind of click-throughs and conversion rates can be expected? Some of the previous posts on this topic simply ask, "what are the best ad networks?" and they dont seem to get many responses or answers, so I have tried to be more specific with my questioning to broaden the debate, hoping that someone will reveal some more of the detail. (*crosses fingers) I would really appreciate any expertise on this topic as I will be placing advertising and/or PPI campaigns at some point in the future and am keen to have some insights to the ad network landscape, how it works and what are the areas to consider.
