I'm currently sitting at my laptop which is connected via WiFi, yet my iPhone will not connect to it. It never has ever since I updated to 2.0 whenever that came out.

I go into settings > WiFi and the name of my connection pops up with a check mark yet I still see the E in my top bar and it's definitely not as fast as WiFi (and I can't download any big apps so I know I'm not actually on it). I've taken my iPhone into Apple but it connects to their WiFi perfectly so they can never help me. If I click back into settings it says I'm connected to it but I still have the E. Anyone have any ideas?

(And before you ask, yes I have WiFi turned on.)

    Thanks :)

Is your connection an 802.11n connection? If so, the iPhone can't connect to it. Try connecting to your router with an ethernet cable, and open a web browser. Type. 192.168.1.1 and look at your configuration for your router. Try changing some of your settings. Also do a restore on your iPhone to see. Also update to the latest firmware.

  3. Change your channel on your router. I think $1 is worth WifiTrak to see all your neighbors channels so as to pick a different one.

It's not an 802.11n connection. My first iPhone took a dive on me so Apple gave me a new one but before it went kaput I was able to get WiFi on it no problem. This new one just doesn't work. I'll try the restore.
