There is a new youtube video to watch. Its a tutorial video so you can find out how the controls work. YouTube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syrvY3FLWeU I mentioned earlier that we would be releasing a video showing of fly overs and game play, but we decided to release this tutorial video first because we have been giving out some preview builds to press. This video might come in handy for them.
I'm curious- I didn't see you changing direction mid-air with the afterburner. Is that possible? It doesn't look like the controls let you turn your car from side to side (midflight) so do you just have to follow the initial flight path? Still eagerly awaiting release. Let us know when there is any news! Or if there's any way to get a preview build haha
If you look at the social groups that we have in TA, you can see how actively involved we all are in testing games http://forums.toucharcade.com/group.php So yeah, do give a chime if you need some testers for your next game or new level packs for Jet Car Stunts. Im sure everyone (including me ) will come rushing to help you out. Edit: Added the two new videos to the first post.
In Air, It controls like a jet, you have roll and elevator controls. You can turn left by rolling left and pulling up at the same time, just like in a plane. But, there is no yaw control. I think yaw is usually controlled by peddels in a plane. With out yaw, you have to bank to turn, which is pretty normal for all the flight sims I've played. The flight controls are quite week. They are just enough to correct your path, or give you a bit of extra hight, straighten the car, and slow down so you don't overshoot a landing. This is a driving game with some jet controls. Not a jet game with some driving controls
Personally, I think that' Jet Car Stunts' would be more fun then 'Jet Car Stunts' But it is interesting to consider different jet cars with a very physics for sequals or add-on packs.
Hehe.. I was just playing around with the words But you have a great idea there. Different jet cars with different physics would definitely be interesting. But I guess the physics for the new cars need to differ significantly for it to be interesting.
We will probably go down this avenue when we get to the stage of Beta testing again - it will certainly make our jobs easier the next time we have to do this
For later updates we have been considering Challenge mode in Openfeint. The thing is we want to see how the game is received before we make any big decisions like multiplayer. We have a list of things that we want to put into the future updates. So lets see what happens after release - personally I think this game has a lot of potential and interest to keep it alive for a long lifespan.
Leaderboards and Achievements so far Trying to get the quickest times to reach the top spot on a track is certainly fun. Luke is a far better player than me but there's a few tracks that he cannot get near my best time This is where the openfient Challenge system would add to the game - get a challenge from a friend and try and thrash their time - we really want to put this in for a future update Just because it will add fun!
