The irony is that the trailer for Mass Effect 2 is included in the game as mentioned in the IGN review.
Makes one cry even more. I'd like the real Bioware team to give this another try sometime down the line. If anything they should take a look at Legion of Amon, that looks closer to how a ME RPG would be on the iPhone. Even the concept art has the same vibe - the female cultist looks like Tali and the enemies like the Geth/ Volus.
In principle I agree with you. This game strikes me as a publisher move to extend the brand done without consent or involvement of the console team or thought to what the fanbase would enjoy. One of the downsides of Bioware selling themselves to EA is that they no longer have complete control over what becomes of the Mass Effect brand. However, what about Legion of Amon is there to look at aside from that collection of images? It would be one thing to point at a finished iPhone game and say that's what ME Galaxy should have been, but for all we currently know about Legion of Amon, it could be a disaster with in-game art that looks nothing like the admittedly solid character concepts. Time will tell.
Ya, I think I finished it in somewhere between an hour and an hour half. I was a bit disapointed, but not too much. The framerate is the issue that really gets to me. I'd play it again if the framerate was fixed. It's no where near the game it could have been, but the story and cutscenes were decent and the gameplay (for what it is,) was fun -- the framerate was terrible though, and that's inexcusable. Really, they should have made it longer, added some real boss fights, made some larger environements. Four or five hours would have been nice. But then they should have done a lot of things to live up to the ME name that they didn't do, I guess. Well, they're not going to fix the design complaints, but they better fix the framerate. It's unbelievable that such a simple game with so little actually going on slows my 3G S down so much.
Game sux. Sorry but it's like marbles with guns. They should have stuck to the rpg. Glad i passed on this one
I'm in for one at $3, but i'm a huge Mass Effect fan and loved the books too =) but $5 dollars was too much for the reviews it was getting =p
