This game is made by a studio that we already know makes great games. That wasn't so much the case with Battlefield: Aftershockinglyterrible
If so the final product will look like on screenshots... Edit 1:word,,E-p-i-c'' Edit 2:I wonder whether the game is produced for A5 device?:confused
I hope this doesn't take as long as Battlefield 3 (regardless of how bad it sucks) or Burnout (where the hell is that). This game does look great and hope to not have to wait for this years holiday season. Battlefield 3 kept getting pushed back, Burnout was "soon" and Need For Speed was cancelled.
Infiltrator isn’t a direct port of the latest Mass Effect game. Unlike its big brother, a sci-fi role-playing game known for its first-person shooter gameplay and massive, branching story-lines, Infiltrator is all about fighting. The game will have a unique narrative that ties into the series’ mythos but the game’s emphasis is clearly on short bursts of action. The story follows a soldier called Randall Ezno as he travels the universe tracking down alien species. Infilitrator will start overlapping with the main campaign of Mass Effect 3 as Ezno begins feeding information and items to Commander Shepard, the protagonist of Mass Effect 3. That overlap isn’t just window-dressing. Items and information collected in Infiltrator will also appear in-game for Shepard to use. These items aren’t crucial to completing the console game, but they will make the going a little easier and encourage mobile players to keep powering through Infiltrator‘s missions. Infiltrator is still one of the best looking mobile games we’ve seen. http://mashable.com/2012/02/09/mass-effect-3-infilitrator/ I'm a bit sad that branching stories aren't in but i'll hold my judgement until i've actually played the game.
Was anyone really expecting this to be a port of Mass Effect 3? I mean, come on, the name gives it away: Infiltrator =NOT= 3. And since when are Mass Effect games considered as first-person shooters???
Well no one was expecting a real port but i was kinda hoping that they would keep the core elements of the franchise and for me that included branching storylines. Oh and about that "first person shooter" comment, that was simply a mistake on his part. Nowadays it seems that every action shooter is considered first person which is totally stupid...
I hope this game will run on my Iphone 4S, graphics seems too amazing! Maybe the game is on rail like rage! It's impossible to have this graphic on our devices, It seems a ps3 game!
Of course it'll run on an iPhone 4S. And most probably an iPhone 4 as well. The graphics look good, but overall, judging from those iPad screenshots I'd say they look no better than Dead Space running on an iPhone 4. Compare them here if you want. Mass Effect: Infiltrator (iPad 2) Dead Space (iPhone 4)
Dead space is one of my favourite games on iOS. Nothing comes close, not even Shadowgun, or Mc2. So if it's from the same devs and by the look of those screenshots, should be a winner. Hopefully it's not a condensed short version. One poster said the sound was so great from Dead Space. I agree, hopefully they can add great sound effects, voicing, etc...
Models are much better than deadspace IMHO! And the scenarios too! Ds models are not so gorgeous like mass effect infiltration! It seems a ps3 game!
Console games are still quite a step ahead of this, espechially the lighting and 3D moddles is waaaaaaay better in console/PC games compared to iOS games. Btw, I hope this weapon from Mass Effect 2 makes it into this game...
Console are much powerful than smartphones! Only Psvita can challenge home console. But this Mass effect has the best graphic I've seen on Ios! Infinity Blade 2 is the best ma it's on rails!
If the rumours about the ipad 3 are true, it will have the exact same gpu with an added quad core and more ram than the psvita. I don't think the problem is with the hardware itself but more with the way the appstore was built. No big publisher will spend 2 years making a "AAA" (i hate hat term Xd) game on IOS unless there's a major change in the way this market works or someone proves them otherwise at least.
Namco is the first publisher who tried this with Soul Calibur a "AAA" title. I will spend also 10-15 bucks for a great title, and Appstore market is better than ps store market! Iphone 4S hardware is superior to Nintendo 3ds!
I hope they release a trailer soon. I've been obsessively googling and youtubing for one ever since they announced the game. I'm almost as excited for Infiltrator as I am for ME3!
Yeah but the ipad3 will have to render games at a much higher resolution than psvita which will be quite taxing for the hardware (which i really doubt will be equal or better than psvita anyway ) .
Yeah I know ; ) but if you look under the hood the current ipad 2 (and iphone 4S) are equipped with a SGX543MP2. The one powering the psvita is SGX543MP4+, so that's the quad core model. I don't think that the new ipad will have the new powervr 600 series (they will have 20x or more power than the old gen) so it's safe to assume that the gpu will be the same (i.e the SGX543MP4+) with a quad core and more ram. But i agree that the resolution will tax hardware a lot more. Anyway the problem is that we are still scratching the surface because of the way the appstore grew so we won't see the full power of that beast before the 6th or 7th gen...
I don't know why anyone would argue PS-Vita versus iPad 3 hardware specs. The Vita is half the price, at minimum, and if you are a dedicated/hardcore gamer, the quality of the software offered for the iPad 3 will never match on average the quality of software offered for the PS-Vita. The games are what makes the system and for serious gamers there is no competition. Even this game, which will likely be as high a quality of a game as the iOS market has to offer, will likely contain around two hours of content. That's how much Dead Space offered. I doubt we'll see much more then that here. 4 hours on average is about the max for this level of game on the iOS. Look at Gameloft releases. Uncharted offers 10-15 hours. Even so, I would be perfectly happy with more games the quality of Dead Space or Mass Effect, even if they were only 2 hours long. But how many games a year come out on the AppStore that look anything like what we are seeing here? 5 or 6? And many of those end up being survival zombie hoard mode games or touch/swipe games. Games often with no voice overs, no cut scenes, weak characters, minimal storytelling, etc. I'm excited that Mass Effect will offer a complete, full-fledged gaming experience. Don't get me wrong. But the vast majority of iOS games don't. Which is why they cannot compete with Vita games. Which is why they are cheaper and target a different audience of gamers.
