I think anyone that wants to compare dedicated gaming devices to iDevices should just look up all the old, tiring arguments about PCs vs. consoles. Even if the iPad 3 or iPhone/iPod 5 had 3x the power of the PS Vita, any dedicated and/or hardcore gamer (who doesn't just love iOS) should go the PS Vita route. IMO Me, I love the indie development on iOS which is why I stick around despite all the things I absolutely hate. I've also owned both the PSP and DS and was never a huge fan. I'll admit I was a huge console gamer at the time, so that may have affected my opinion. Also, I could ultimately care less about blockbuster tittles coming to iOS. Again, if you want that pick up another system. iOS isn't really that cheap when you weigh in all the factors. I will however pick this because it's Mass Effect, but screw EA.
I found a couple of articles where media people got to try hands on demos, but no new screenshots or trailers.
so EA could release a freemium! but i dont think bioware would agree to that! as far as gameplay go! they have said it will be linked to the "war of the worlds" gameplay, just like the multiplayer will, wicth should ultimately help players ing the singleplayer gameplay, as far as i heard, so im guessing its a shooter maybe with small portion of RPG element, but come to think of it, didnt dead space have a tiny portion of RPG in it? i think it did....not mutch though but i remember a little! something about the armour he was wearing or something like that! anyway.....i guess we'll see ´very soon anyway! the console version is released next month, and it would sirprise me, if the IOS version was'nt released at the same time!
I could be wrong, but I don't think it's BioWare who are developing this game. I think they are just holding the rights to it. Anyways I don't think it will be freemium. They have learnt from their mistakes with Aftershock and EA tend to listen to their fans (bwahahahah Gameloft) so hopefully it's paid. Looking at the screenshots I can't see this just being some multiplayer game as it would be insubstantial to have one player with a robot etc.
Dev is the dev of Dead Space for iOS(forgot the name), not bioware. And does it have multiplayer? I thought it was gonna be like Dead Space.
Yes, it isn't BioWare working on it, I think it's Iron Monkey studios or something like that (they made the iOS version of Dead Space anyway). Also, atleast gameloft said that they were just testing the freemium stuff and that not all their games would be like that, when did EA ever say anything like that?
Between the amazing production values (judging from the screenshots) and the tie in with a major console franchise, I highly doubt this will be a freemium game.
The prevailing theory is that, economically speaking, premium Freemium games are an impossibility. If it were possible, the industry could easily create a brand of Freemium game that would be more universally appealing. This looks like a $9.99 iPhone game, and I'm fine with that. It would be nice if they made it universal. Or else, they could make the iPad version a few dollars more. Either way, this looks like the caliber of game that we see only a few times a year. I'm definitely all over this.
I really don't exprect this to be freemium. Dead space probably made a ton of money by pricing. If this is similar, I expect this to be around 6.99 on release. I have no problem paying that for this kind of game. I can't wait until they release. Looks really good, judging by the screenshots.
Anyone heard of a release date? Just downloaded the console demo, and i cant wait to fire the First rounds in the war for All life as we know it.
Mass Effect and Dead Space are completely different games. If this was just Dead Space coppyed and pasted it wouldn't make any sense.
