I totally agree with these statements. This game should be over $10 based on the prices of other games on the platform. For example, Gameloft charged like $8 i think for N.O.V.A, and that had about 2 - 3 hours of gameplay, people are getting this for $3 and get at least 20+ hours of gameplay, if not far more (the hours are based on my experience, I'm almost on level 20, and have had around 8 - 10 hours of gameplay so far). How much time would you guys estimate that the game took to complete or how many hours you have spent on it so far?
Yeah, he actually is being really nice about it. They spend about.... 5 minutes on your subway that costs 5 bucks. Ryan spent hundreds of hours creating a game that will last you about 50 hrs. Console games aren't even that hardcore most of the time.
There's always going to be the few people who think that every game that isn't made by Gameloft or EA should be $.99. And we've seen iball's past record on the forums... I'm not taking his comments too seriously anymore. He's always trying to start some sort of argument, whether it be over piracy, cheap games, or the eternal Gameloft debate.
Thanks for the kind words Guys and I will value even his input after he has put some serious time into the game all data is useful to me update 4 in review that boss bar is huge and was a great idea
Me too .. I am updating the mission Europa data now and moving the guns pieces into the systems they are designed for on the blog if interested.
Should be finishing the weapons for the first ten levels today I have posted them on my blog "link below in sig" drop by and lend your ideas if y'all have time I should get back to gameplay this weekend and hopefully hve an alpha candidate in two weeks! "alpha being the first 5 levels of gameplay to test and tweak.
DAMN, Ryan. All that stuff is going into ME? Guns with interchangeable parts, melee weapons and special abilities? That is just fkin' ridiculous! I can't tell you have much I'm looking forward to playing it! And update for NR is huge again too! I'm nominating you for best dev of all-time.
ROFL.. Thank you I need the rocket fuel! .. I just want players to be involved and happy it is their product Just finished an axe. It is a bland level 1 item but still fun to swing =) There is a story on how these old weapons are on Europa on the blog somewhere....
I third that. Oh yeah, I just got an idea. Would there be any way to easily and quickly switch weapons, maybe between 2, without having to go through the menus? I like the way that Borderlands does it, where you set up 2-4 weapons to quickly switch between, then use the Y button or d-pad to pick your weapon. Otherwise, will there be dual weilding for when you're using one handed weapons? I'm not talking about 2 rifles, like in Time Splitters 2 where you can dual-wield guns such as Tommy Guns, or Battle Axes, but something like a combo of 2 pistols, 2 swords, or one pistol and one sword, so that way we can start the assault at long range and then close the gap and attack with the sword. I also just realized that in the title of the thread, I said "fururistic" instead of "futuristic". I feel retarded... If a mod sees this, can you please fix the title?
Yea on the blog I explained it =).. One handers duel weilding and you can shield. Both hands means you are more open but more damage and yes you can switch to guns by pressing buttons like a ability. There are 3 filp-able screens. So 18 or so attacks or weapon switches you can line up =) I am thinking press weapon button then a small menu pops up to pick left or right bam hand drops quick comes back with gun =)
I like the sub-menu idea alot. It's always been a huge help to be able to have a small menu pop up in the corner where you can quickly switch equipment, like in games such as Final Fantasy XII where you could pick your attacks all from a quick sub-menu. I'd say have one column of that menu for left handed weapons, one for right handed, and the last for two handed weaponry, and you scroll through the list and click on the one(s) you want. I really can't wait for alpha time. I know for a fact that the Zenonia 2 beta will be done by then, and at that time I might have one other one going on, so I'll have plenty of time. And if this is any bit as fun as Necro, I'll love this one.
Awesome thanks! =).. I cannot wait to get there too it will be the first couple levels so we can nail down the gameplay before I duplicate crap all the way through.. =)
Lol, yeah, I didn't even make it past the first few levels during the majority of the Necro beta. That game is just too (awesomely) longa for me to test the whole thing. Thank God for dev tools . And how's the story going? It had better be on par with the MGS series or I am giving this game bad publicity. Ok, not really, but it sounds like it should be pretty interesting and was something that was missing from Necromancer (well the Battle Priest, as ironic as the name is, was pretty sick).
O yes..all cut scenes to no cheesy text only scroll hell Very weird and scary story.. I am a bit twisted ;P
Don't worry about it... trust me, play the Chzo Mythos/John DeFoe series (a freeware point-and-click game series), you will see a good amount of twisted-ness. That, and Silent Hill. There's twisted for you. I do enjoy a good horror game. Is there any way that the player can have a complete disregard for the story though? Some people don't give a crap about stories, and may think that the lack of story in Necro may carry on to this game, so while having an awesome story, sometimes having the option to skip it (like how you can skip cutscenes in Metal Gear games... I think... I liked them so much I never tried to, even on my second/third playthroughs) could help.
That's nice. It's all gumdrops and unicorns in your world, isn't it? I remember stating that at the ORIGINAL price he wouldn't get as much of an ROI than he would if he had just had it $2.99. Obviously he wanted to learn this lesson himself rather than learning from others or noting app store sales trends. And you folks are quick to forget that the first game was pretty much just to get the groundwork laid for the next game which is ME. A lone developer LEARNS and tries to re-use and optimize as much of their previous code as they can in order to make developing the next games down the road a little easier after each release. That is all just basic logic. Perhaps when you finally get to middle school you'll get to acquire some more logical thinking skills.
